+Moni Mishrakeshi yup :) dance is definitely something else than sport obviously...abhinaya is very very important in dance...one usually sees a strong lack of pure and honest abhinaya( facial expression) in modern days..its a delight to see someone like the great alrmel valli perform...because it is so refreshing, her stpes are graceful, and her abhinaya is rich and beautiful..truly a delight...

Yes I fully agree. She is truly a classical bharatanatyam dancer and not a modern gym instructor or a Bollywood star, which seems to be a modern way to perform this dance form. Her face expressions are probably the best I have ever seen and she knows the rhythm, when to be fast and when to move slowly and show finger gestures.

Running around the stage, lacking grace?? Did you actually watch this superb performance??? Look at her face, the tight discipline of the arm and hand gestures. All in time with the musical accompaniment. This is disciplined, skillful abd devotional dance, executed by a master of the tremendously difficult bharatanatyam form. I ask you, watch again, look at the rhythm, the movement and then pause, reflect on your utterly asinine comment.
