I was that guy from Australia. First time back in the uk for over 10 years. Didn’t know we were playing in Edinburgh and only found out that morning. Couldn’t get an away ticket so decided the next best thing was to buy a home ticket and also support the local club by buying their home kit. Was an amazing day and to top it off I got to meet the legend that is Alasdair Gold. I remember Ali advocating for a head coach who felt excitement managing Spurs instead of the "I am doing you guys a favor" attitude of some in recent years. So glad Spurs nailed the manager coach position this time and we can actually build with someone who understands the challenge yet is emphatic in his desire to be here.

As a Spurs supporter who moved to Scotland many years ago now, I don't get to see the team live as often as I would like so I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Tynecastle. The second half performance in particular from such a young line-up was a delight to watch. It showed the benefit of playing on the front foot, moving the ball quickly and accurately, taking on opponents and not giving them time to settle. I've expressed my high hopes for Tyrese Hall before - and I would definitely add Lucas Bergvall and Mikey Moore to that list (as well as Archie Gray and Jamie Donley from the "experienced" first half team). I hope fans are patient with all the youngsters - it goes with the territory that they will have dips as well as high points. Seeing young talent flourish and playing attractive football makes the experience all the better. Spurs have won the most recent games I've seen live by four-goal margins, if you would like to sign me up as your assistant and lucky mascot!!!

We’ve had a wonder kid or two every now and then but I can’t remember the last time we had this many good/great young players around the squad. We already have Udogie, Porro, VDV, Dragusin & Sarr in the squad, Gray and Bergvall are gonna be added and then we have Phillips, Abbott, Hall, Moore, Devine, Donley, Lankshear, Scarlett, Veliz all with great potential. Maybe even a surprise package in Spence who’s only 23 Not every wonderkid hits their potential but I believe we have the training facilities, staff and culture to give them the best possible chance

Was our families first ever game on Wednesday night. Dad has been a supporter since the late 70s. I saw you typing away and didn't want to bother you, but mum insisted i say hello (I can only apologise for annoying you when you were writing up the teams). Took my wee lad (from Aberdeen) for his first spurs game . In a playground full of Man City/Man Utd etc 'fans' he absolutely loved it and hopefully got him hooked. Could see his eyes popping with excitement during his first "Oh When The Spurs..". The first half was a little disjointed (to be expected) but the 'kids' in the second half...wow. Their passing and movement off the ball, great to watch.

As an American, I love pre-season. Hope is high and gives you the opportunity to see guys early in their Spurs careers. I'll always remember getting to see the debut of Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld against the MLS All Stars.

As a Leeds fan, it was weird seeing him play a friendly at Tynecastle a year after he played here for our lot, huge anticipation of watching him in his first run out in the first team. Saw the Hearts game, some really nice attacking football from our players. Maddison looked sharp and the surprise was how good Spence was. Also good performances from many of the younger Spurs players like Gray, Bergvall, Moore and Lankshire. Looking forward to the rest of the pre-season games.

The 2nd half start, for about 5 minutes or so, Hearts competed as equals which cheesed off some of the Spurs youngsters and they just got it together and took control, the rest of the half was played in the Hearts half, the intelligence of the Spurs youngsters was a delight

We haven't had a great midfield since Dembele was purring. What I've seen from Gray on/off the pitch he reminds me of young Steve perryman. Bergvall with his always forward thinking passes/flicks reminds me of Hoodle. Just actually imagine if they reach those heights. COYS!

I thought Spence did really well in the game, certainly better than Emerson and they want more for Emerson than Spence. All the youngsters I think did really well more convincing than some of the starting line up. Thanks for the update take care of yourself and enjoy.

Gray said he’s lucky to be here (Spurs, PL?) but emphasized how hard he’s been working. He’s humble but self-confident. I’m honestly disappointed in Ange’s answer on Bentancur incident. His hands are tied but he’s missed the point of the incident like Bentancur’s second apology.

The whole friendly was class, Dave Mackay tribute was fantastic, and the game was very competitive, Hearts put in a lot of heart - as for our beloved Spurs, this was honestly the most exciting preseason I've seen in years - Gary, Bergval, Lancashire, Moore, Spence - electric - Spence is a very very talented player, you can see with an attitude change, coaching, he'll be huge!

First half team was ok, but the second half FIRST team were the future of now, aside from a couple of defenders I’d put them up as one of the cup teams “as is” and complete, I know after the summer we’ve had it’s hard to forget footballers can play forward without playing it backwards and side to side a dozen times first but it was great seeing attacking, front foot footballers playing without a handbrake, mikey Jed, Stephen wil, Archie and co should have a lot of last season first team very rattled for their places and I was extremely impressed not only with our “new stars” but the home growns lads looked extremely confident and far more true to Ange’s philosophies than the first half second string played last season… The future is very bright… COYS

A wonderful occasion for the youngsters , accrediting themselves well. It does beg the question over consistency and man management of younger players , we don't want them burned out as happened with Sess. if the club choose to step up the academy players and young signings , Gray and Bergvall already . Especially if not prepared to bring in players more seasoned, to the league fixtures , and required to ensure rotation and consistency are available. While the transfer 'phase' seems to be quiet in all but speculation ,the three players Emerson ,Skipp and Spence , with Spence showing some quality playing. Is the board getting cold feet on major rebuild ? Interesting to see who goes on the Far East tour ?

I think Archie's on the ball abilities overshadow his excellent defense. The kid knows how to make a tackle. Not an interception, block or a seal out, but an actual tackle, and we don't have too many players with that ability.

Sure it was against Hearts but most of us seem delighted to have seen our youngsters get a good run out. Austin's highlight reel save, Spence's shiny new attitude, Moore's dance moves, the glow around Bergvall and Gray. So much to talk about. But I agree: that stylish flick from Kulusevski was just jogo bonito. Also comparing Timo to Lucas Moura is an interesting call: I expect to see Timo often coming in as a late sub to run and run and run at weary opponents 🙂

Hi Ali, thank you for the video. I only managed to catch the first half of the first half because it was like 2.30 am in Singapore and I fell asleep. I must say that the seagulls on the video feed were quite distracting! Lol! A few of things if I may: (a) Based on his performance, Djed should be given a chance. It will save us having to look for a backup right back to Pedro and allow us to invest the funds in other areas. But of course if Ange assesses that his head is not in the right place or if he will be a negative influence on the team, he should be let-go. (b) I think Angelos' psycological masterplan is coming to fruition. The threat of young players usurping the "incumbents" and the hope given to the youngers that they can break into the first team will hopefully create healthy competition within the squad. (c) Edinburgh is much more beautiful in the sunshine. I visited in the winter of 2016 but it was gloomly throughout my stay!
