Weathering A Beautiful Snowstorm And Then BITTER Cold In My Cozy Off-Grid Cabin | ASMR

Winter's first BIG snow has come to my cabin in Alaska. My dog and I hunker down and ride out the snow, the rain and then the BITTER cold. Norman and I enjoy the peaceful solitude and serene beauty of living in the middle of nowhere, but with it comes hard work and many chores. This is 3-days of my life...alone in the woods. Relax and enjoy.

Greetings😊 I'm a 76yo woman living in Florida who spent 30 years living in Wisconsin. I do like a certain amount of cold weather and snow. It can be invigorating. You've got a beautiful cabin and your faithful doggie 👍 I just wanted to suggest you invest in a real snow shovel. (I found I like plastic ones the best because the snow never sticks like aluminum) rather than the coal shovel you use. I used to like shoveling in the middle of the night preferably while it was softly snowing yet and there was a full moon (although I had a streetlight on my corner if there was no moon)and the blanket of snow muffled any noises in my small hometown which was pretty noise free any way. My most hated time because I worked in an office and we had to dress up back then was to shovel my car out after the plows were through, go in and shower and dress only to come back out and find my car plowed in again! 🤨 I suspected it was a guy I refused a date with but couldn't prove it😡 My favorite time besides snow filled holidays, was to stand looking out from a toasty house at a snowstorm as I ate a banana split LOL 😁 Thank you for sharing and reminding me of the many beautiful winter wonderlands I enjoyed! I also loved your music 🎵 and would wish to hear more 👍. So nice to see you living your best life. ❤️

I live out in the country (but nowhere as remote as you) and we get our share of snow. A lot of people here say that they hate the Winter, but I really like it. There's something very relaxing and comforting to me about being warm inside and watching the Winter (until I have to go out & shovel/blow snow, that is... ☺ ). But it's small price to pay to experience the beauty of it all. Thanks for these great videos as they bring me back to that. And despite your hard work, it looks like you lead a very fulfilling, high-quality life. God Bless.

This is so wonderful! Seeing you split the wood for your woodburning stove brings back a lot of happy memories for me. I am born and bred in the big city of Chicago, but when I moved to Maine 5 years ago, I stayed in a homestead with my host family. One of my room and board tasks was keeping the woodbin stocked for the 3 stoves in the 5-story house we lived in. Long story short- I lost 15 pounds in 4 months during the winter just from dealing with wood! There is no better heat than that from a woodburning stove - so warm and radiant. Love this video so much!

Not to be crude, but one of my absolute favorite f😊eelings w😊as gett😊ing out of 😊bed, standing in front of our Woodstock in my flannel nightgown and slippers, lif ting it up and scratching Mty backside. And feeling the warmth. Then making coffee and breakfast before I went out to feed and check the . I loved cooking on a wood 😊fired range. Learning to bake successfully took some time, but what a feeling of accomplishment.!!!!😊😊😊

Plus I worked in the forest‼️In AK AT THAT‼️ well to hell with the COLD 🥶… SNOW, killer wind and -20‼️ I love my HEATER, laying in the Sun in Feb … and not looking like one of the mole people when the Sun does come out in AK❗️Face to the sky❗️Dream heck no dude alottah nightmare‼️. Nice place Brother. Havent been to my cabin in about 8 years. My brothers have been my caretakers of it for me. 7600 ft above Sea level makes it hard for me to breathe without O2. LOL, we take it that you don’t like the snow? My mom likes to see it on TV or in pictures, but hates to live in it. My wife and I live in a very mountainous area of north central Washington state and get 5-7 feet of snow every winter and LOVE IT !

There's Ben working his butt off to break trails to the outhouse and then we see Norman joyfully leaping all over the place. . . happy as a pig in a wallow! Having seen the other video where Ben had to get piles of snow off of the main cabin and the out buildings, I am getting concerned about the snow piling up again. I believe I would do there what my children and I did when we lived totally off grid (kerosene lamps only) with an out house. I fixed up a camping toilet for us in our tiny cabin. Used at night and during terrible weather.

Just came across your channel, so I do not know much about you yet (I will be back watching!), but I LOVE where and how you are living, snow and all!Norman running back and forth as you shovel is a hoot. It's probably twice the work since you are recording it all, thanks for that work. We got our first now here in West Virginia, a whole inch :(. Im a freak and love to shovel paths in the snow for feeding local deer, for the cat to run around on, etc. Not really 'life' important, but I love it nonetheless.

They have lights for seasonal affective disorder, you sit under the light for 1/2 an hour every morning, shortly after waking. It does help. Try a sativa medible if you don't have to drive. It is like having a beer, without the reprehensible behaviours of being inebriated😂🎉

It you don't want to buy the SAD light you can get a spectrum lightbulb for plants that helps too but use it in the morning when you wake up. Some people think the light from a cell phone helps serotonin levels. But it might be too much, if you are on your phone for 20 hours. Each person is different.

If you have bad relatives it is a reprieve. Reading books or listen to music is much more rewarding than arguing with deplorable relatives.

That dog is living their best life! Such a happy doggo!! On a random side note as a southern Californian who's never had to deal with snow....what happens if you wake up and have to wee in the very early hours?! I can't imagine having to tramp out there, with loads of critters around and then freeze while trying to have a private moment in the outhouse. I love Alaska, but it's little things like this that make me appreciate my own home. Great video!!
