Thank you for posting this video of your Alaska cruise and your review of it. We are from the UK and are on the Ruby Princess in May next year, 2025. Cruising from San Francisco for 10 days to Alaskan ports including Glacier Bay and Victoria Canada. We have cruised before in Europe and Caribbean. This our bucket list cruise and I hope we enjoy it as much as you two seemed to. Excursions are booked and we are so looking forward to it. Thank you again.

We did a similar cruise with Celebrity , it was amazing , we had 2 nights in Vancouver prior to boarding , we didn’t do Skagway , we did Hubbard Glacier and Hoonah , I agree re inside passage the scenery was amazing , we did a whale watching tour independently from Juneau it was the highlight of the cruise , would go again in a heartbeat , another great review thanks 🤩

We would absolutely like to try Alaska with Celebrity, especially on the Edge class ones, but being completely honest, we would go on any cruise line to get chance to go there again.

Just came back from Alaska on the Edge. Had an absolutely amazing vacation. The ship and service was excellent, but looking to go to Glacier Bay!

We'd love to do Alaska on an Edge class ship, we have such an amazing time on Apex, to do class of ship in Alaska would be fantastic.

Haven’t found & subbed a new channel is a very long time. So happy to find you. Been a little wary of our one year from now Alaska cruise plan on the Ruby, and you really answered my concerns. Esp was worried the ship needs a refresh, and no Alfredo’s! (Heard so much about it, it’s a pity.) Hopefully going with friends rt from SF (11 days) and looking at the cost, w/no airfare (!), the hefty price does begin to make sense. Our first cruise, and I want my husband to enjoy it at least 6 out of 10, wish me luck ;) All the best!

@ No worries, and perfect timing for you to turn up actually, as we still have an August cruise booked & my husband just finally got into talking about it, looking at excursions etc today :) This is the only vlog I can recall in which I enjoy the hosts very much, and we can get an inside view of the actual ship we’re booked on. So thanks for reminding me! He enjoyed it, & got a lot of questions answered that he didn’t know he had..😘 I’m pretty excited for it now!!

I see you had a duck fart in Juneau. Travel the inside passage, if possible, the outside of Vancouver Island is open water, and it can get rough. YMCA. People think going to Alaska, repeatedly, is strange, but you can see where you can form a connection with the land, the water, and the wildlife. We are going back next May. We have never traveled on Princess. Your video makes it very compelling. Cheers 🎉

We certainly did have it Steve, couldn't miss out on that rite of passage! And Bonus point to you for YMCA 😀 We would not think going back to Alaska again and again is strange at all, it is absolutely stunning and we will 100% be going back again. Princess is absolutely worth trying, and especially with some of the newer ships heading up there soon, such as Star Princess.

We got a great deal, a ton of fun and very lucky with weather😊. For a family of 4 the round trip from Chicago-Seattle (+2day stay) Flight and round trip Cruise from Seattle to Alaska on Carnival Balcony. Any guesses on how much it costed? Hint: it’s less than $8000!!

Great video and enjoyed the port stops. We're sailing HAL Koningsdam to Alaska next month (Sept) - same itinerary, roundtrip from Vancouver. I agree it's quite expensive - the cruise set us back about £4.5k for a balcony cabin. We already had a planned trip to Vancouver for 2.5 weeks to visit our daughter so the airfares were already bought and paid for when we decided to include an Alaskan cruise to our trip. My top tip is to fly BA from Gatwick to Vancouver - our premium economy tickets were £1,000 cheaper EACH than flying BA from Heathrow on exactly the same day. No idea why! I agree this is a bucket list cruise with bucket list prices!

Thank you so much :) It is definitely not a cheap place to go, but very few bucket list places are we guess! You are going to have an amazing time, and HAL are an amazing cruise line for Alaska. We did the Gatwick for exactly the same reason. Same day as Heathrow, more or less the same time, and £900 cheaper each in early June.

@@SuiteNatured crazy airfare difference with no obvious reason for the huge price difference other than it’s an old Boeing 777 from Gatwick and a spanking new A350 from Heathrow (which I flew on to Vancouver last September - only a month old and it was lovely. Such a quiet plane too). Maybe BA are operating similar pricing models to cruise companies - the newest, latest and shiniest ship is the most expensive vs the older ships which are generally cheaper. I checked the upgrade options for the flight. BA want £10k to upgrade to Club World each way for both of us. Nuts! I don’t think so 😂😂😂 But otherwise very excited about the cruise. 🚢 !

Ahh the duck fart! For the uninitiated that’s a baby Guinness with a whisky float that is the speciality of the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau. My wife and I loved our Alaska trip and Vancouver, going to have to have a look at prices now! We’ve been to Norway twice and although it is lovely and doesn’t require a plane trip I think Alaska has the edge over it.

And very tasty the Duck Fart was too :) We are with you, the Fjords are amazing, and we'd happily cruise them any day, but Alaska has the edge on it for us too.

I truly enjoy your informative and fun videos! Thank you. We're going on the Coral Princess next year to Alaska, leaving from Vancouver on inside passage. Definitely bucket list! May I ask what hotel you stayed at in Vancouver before the cruise and would you recommend it?

aww thank you so much Jacqueline. We stayed at the Westin Bayshore and would 100% recommend it. Only a very short ride to the cruise port (five mins) and short walk to Stanley park, also get bar with cocktails that set on fire :)
