Welcome to Modern Homestead Alaska. We are located in South Central Alaska near the town of Wasilla. Living in Alaska and building our dream of “modern Homesteading” through the wilds of winter and the long summer days. We started building our Modern Homestead in 2021. We have since completed the upper levels of our home. Built a 16x16 foot chicken coop that dreams are made of. Our chicken ladies live in luxury as they view the beautiful lake from large windows inside the beautiful coop. We raise our own poultry, hunt for our food. We are avid fisherman And woman. We also built an amazing and beautiful wood shed. We have great big garden planes for the future. Join us as we dream big dreams and live everyday working hard to accomplish them.

We used to camp for 2 weeks (at least) a year and spent many weekend at a swimming lake where we stayed all day. My mom had an old heavy cardboard orange box that was our kitchen supplies. It was always exciting to see that come up out of the basement. You brought back a precious memory with your kitchen box😊

Hi Jessica, Aaron and sweet family! I hope you are ok and not sore from the fall. What a wonderful day after working so hard on the house to be able to get out and do some fishing with Aaron. Aaron is a hoot, made me laugh out loud. He has a great sense of humor. It helps getting organized with everything you need to take ice fishing and keeping you warm. Kudos to you both for being so prepared, lots of thought and trips to get exactly what you’re needs require. I hope everyone has a blessed night!

I couldn’t agree more. Your not suppose to put them back in the lake we are on. They are considered invasive. But if it falls in the hole……. But if it’s caught in the gills and going to die anyway it’s best not to fall back in. You get my perspective.

Just wondering, and this is not meant to be mean, but if you are so allergic to cold why would you move to Alaska where your life could be in danger ? I hope that you stay safe
@modernhomesteadalaska
@modernhomesteadalaska 8 ай бұрын
Not a bad question at all, it’s crazy but I got hives and reaction in Missouri and Arizona more then here, like an AC vent and humidity give me super fast, and at work in AZ I always had a job inside and would have a space heater in the summer, but after living in Colorado we learned how to stay as safe as possible, like I don’t swim in the rivers, and use good gear to stay warm, lastly cold exposure has helped me give less, like I allow myself to get cold just before I react, I guess because I have lived with it so long we just deal much like you would anything, like a diabetic eats and takes snacks and medication and just deals with the condition. I hope that Jane’s sense. Thank you for asking and letting me answer. I never find that rude.

So I have the attic mucks and I use I full foot warmer and a toe warmer. The boots are very good. But my hands and feet are the areas of cold I’m done. I can’t walk if I get hives on my feet. So we paid to have boots that would keep me warm. And it was in the 30s so it was not super cold. I don’t go out for more than a couple min if it’s like super negative temps.

Hi Jessica, not sure what's happened to your channel. I have watched your videos for a couple years. Since you came back after Christmas, they are totally different. The quality of the video has changed, not real clear like they use to be, and more importantly you seem to be missing. Your videos use to be fun and uplifting because you have such a great personality and have a wonderful way of connecting with the camera and to those who watch. In your new videos you seem way more distant.

Hello Jill, it’s funny KZbin is saying this is your first time commenting. So thank you so much for sharing your opinion with us. I am using the same GoPro as before in about 1/2 the clips, I did have an issue with some of the auto setting with the new GoPro. Those have been fixed now. I’m sorry you are not happy with my new videos. But based on I can’t find other comments from you I don’t have a way of comparing what you did like before. But I grow from each complaint.
