Thank you for sharing this video! I'm 49 and I grew up reading articles and watching hunting videos with Jim in it. I got one of his books back in the 90s he was a huge inspiration to me! My dad was a taxidermist in southern California back in the 50s and 60s and it's possible that they might have met each other. Again, thanks for the video post it brings back good memories!!

Adam, how cool is that! Your grandfather guided some legends. My dad loved hunting Alaska. The moose footage is some of my favorite. My dad is no longer with us, but the moose still hangs above the fireplace at my parents' home & the caribou hangs close by. It's impressive to look at.

I just discovered this video, and am rather pleased to have found it. I have read many of Jim Dougherty's articles in years past. He is one of the great bowhunters in American history. The thing I noticed in this video is that he was a left handed shooter, just like Fred Bear. I also noticed he was a deadly shot, especially at long ranges, and with a recurve.....Wow! Thanks for posting this.

Dad actually started shooting right handed. He was right handed. I believe he switched because of an elbow problem. But honestly I can't remember. Glad you enjoyed it!
