Since those two are under Alastor's command and have similar appearances to the humans in the song. But this has not been confirmed

Basic backstory for Alastor: when he was alive he was apart of a demonic cult that practiced blood rituals and the like. He was killed mistakenly by a hunter and his dog who thought he was a deer, that’s why he has horns. Alastor doesn’t like dogs. Plus, he sounds like and old news radio broadcaster because that was his passion, so whenever the radio filter goes away when he talks, he’s being serious.

If I'm not mistaken, we don't know why Alastor is so powerful, because sinners have no reason to be. Alastor is a human soul who acts like a baron of Hell in many ways. We'll probably get an answer to that question in the show, since the pilot made such a big deal out of it.

Yeah, but he can't top Satan or Charlie...since she's supposed to be the heiress to the throne, she's got arguably the soul of ultimate evil, even more than her parents and if Lilith is her mom then that makes Morrigan her half sister, which in turn Morrigan isn't anywhere near as powerful as satan's daughter....so yeah Alistor might be a high devil, but can't really hope to be part of the Evil royal dynasty sort of speak...unless he manages to have a kid with Charlie....but it sounds like he isn't interested in that ...he just wants to entertain himself.

Leeandlie's style often feels like that, full of emotion, and it's part of why I enjoy her songs and covers so much, especially when she changes the songs. (Good examples can be seen in most of her "Lullaby" covers, which usually are based on songs that were not quiet to begin with.)

I believe it's a point in the story that Alastor's power is highly atypical of a Sinner, particularly when his ascension through the ranks of Hell's overlords seemed to happen almost as soon as he manifested in Hell. Various versions of Hell do mention that the number of souls that a demon commands/controls is directly proportional to their overall power. For instance, the Lesser Key of Solomon indicates that Stolas, a Great Prince of Hell, commanded 26 legions, but this still doesn't explain how Alastor could arrive in Hell being as powerful as he was purported to be. He's not the only mortal soul to be numbered among Hell's overlords, and the others that we know of all represent special cases. As a caveat, some of these are old hints dropped by the creator that may no longer be accurate. Rosie has been described as a mortal soul...who never actually died, and Lilith, who again was mortal, but depending on which apocrypha you're using may have been condemned to hell by God himself. It's just another aspect of the setting that we don't know for certain.

Alastor's a dealmaker, a special kind of demon that can be summoned at a crossroads (where you chose your path) and you can make a deal with him, whatever you want in exchange for your soul. the more deals a dealmaker have, the more powerful they are. So i guess Alastor's a pretty good salesman and made so many deals that his powers gone up exponentially.

yes people do ship them but in the case of this music video that’s not the case. the song and video are basically charlie and alastor talking to each other wanting to team up to make their dreams reality but with both very different intentions. alastor wants charlie to finally let out her inner demon and be as destructive and chaotic as he is which you can see in the beginning verses while they’re standing in the mirror and her horns and eyes are in their true form. while charlie wants alastor to help her and her hotel serve its purpose which you can see in her verses telling him her dream is genuine and he can’t change her.

Charlie as a hellborn isn’t a sinner. All she wants is to help. She is a genuine good person, she just has sketchy parents. She might be the only person in Hell he doesn’t eventually wish suffering and death upon. No one knows his complete end goals, so he could really just be using her as a pawn, enDEERing himself to her so when she does come into her power she will be less likely to kill him. Or he genuinely tolerates her and boosts her up out of a smigen of affection. So yeah. Fandom ships them . He gets shipped w a lot. But w her its a kind of may/oct introvert/extrovert both trying to improve their world...just with vastly different end goal definitions. It is cute. But I personally prefer him as the Ace king of roches we get in cannon.

Alastor's Game is not cannon to the story. That might've been Angel Dust, but it's unlikely as Angel died in 1943 and Alastor died in 1933. Roughly. Either way Angel died in the 40's and Alastor in the 30's, which granted still means Al could've made Angel one of his first few deals, but again not likely as they didn't know each other when they met in the pilot.

As with every popular series, people will ship anyone with anyone. Canonically Alastor isn’t interested in romance at all, he only cares about amusing himself almost always at someone else’s cost. There is no background between Alastor or Angel Dust, AD didn’t even know who he was until it was explained to him. As for the whole power scaling thing… Considering we have had literally only 1 episode of Hazbin Hotel with only really 1 feat of destruction on Al’s part, it’s too soon to say. IMO he’s probably weaker than Stolas, however that doesn’t mean Alastor is weak at all, he is one of hell’s overlords and one of if not the most powerful demon who was formerly a human, just probably not powerful enough to directly challenge hell’s royalty. Alastor is helping the hotel for the entertainment of watching people try and fail to better themselves, unlike Charlie he doesn’t believe sinners are capable of redemption. He’s a sadist who gets a laugh out of watching people suffer.

Ok nobody commented on the line "you were never fully dressed at your debut" so here we go. Basically in high society from the time period that Alastor comes from the debut of a debutant (i.e. the high ranking daughter of a high society family) is typically a ball or function in which the debutant is tested for that level of society by interacting with future peers and setting their standing accordingly in the hierarchy of society. Part of that is to keep smiling regardless of what being asked and what is happening around them to show that their manners are impeccable. You may excuse yourself from the conversations you dislike gracefully but the smile must never leave your face or show what your truly feeling.

Sure, "some" people ship charlie and alastor, but "on hell of a team" is more based on their goals and motivations. Sweet Calamity is more connected to how Charlie is seen being a "walking disaster" of a demoness with her innocent like whimsy etc. On top of that, Alastor wishes to see how far he could corrupt/use Charlie for entertainment at the very least. Torturous Dream is more how Charlie sees Alastor given that if she can convert him to redemption would be one heck of dream come true for her and would give her inspirations credit but doing so will be long, slow, and painful. Did not fully scroll through comment section so I will stop here. =^ . ^= P.S. as for why she needs him is basically explained in pilot so rewatching it for refresher is good idea *chuckles* did see helluva boss 6 reaction so know be doing that anyways.

I don't think Alastor would be interested in Charlie romantically, he has too much fun making deals that end in his favor and in the other's misfortune, plus he doubts Charlie's chances. not saying he is 100% against her, just saying I don't see the ship working out... plus Charlie is with Vaggie, who doesn't like Alastor at all but also knows she doesn't stand a chance against him 1 vs 1, especially after he destroyed Sir Pentious' war machine with 1 attack.

Its not really a ship (though people do do that) for the context of this song. The song is the embodiment of their conflict. Charlie believes that any soul can be redeemed and Alastor vehemently does not. He is however interested in the potential that he sees within Charlie (for some reason). This song is the literal back and forth of their conflict. Each one believing that they have the answer for the other while dancing around the others attempts to change them.

I'm not sure how strong stolas is, but I always saw alastor as stronger than him. I'll double check, but I think vivziepop said that Alastor and Lucifer (Charlie's father) respect each other. I'm not sure if that means in terms of strength, but I would assume.
