My theory about why he's at the hotel is- first of all for his own entertainment, of course - because he plans to exploit recovering souls at their most vulnerable and make deals with them. The hotel is literally a rehab center, and he not only wants to see them fail because he thinks it would be amusing, but I'm thinking he'll probably tempt them and give them whatever they want in exchange for their souls.

Well that's a good theory, but if they are sucessfull without making a deal with alastor, i think alastor would just *KABOOM* hazbin hotel becuase them failling is his entertainment and if they're sucessfull. He's back to being bored and stuff. And he just had enough of that. And what could be better entertaining than burning down the place that were supposed to be your entertainment But ended up boring instead.

He has deer qualities because its symbolic of his death. When alive he was scared of dogs and leading to his fate of being mauled and eating alive by a pack of hunting dogs, he ran like a deer in the woods when he was a predator killing others turned prey going to his own demise. You will notice even in Hell Alastor does not have wolf or dog demons with or around him.
