Even though 9/10 times Adam would still win, if alastor hadn’t been so cocky he could’ve done a lot more damage before retreating

@@michaelarias3310 that's true. He could have at least bought the others some time though Plus we know thet Lucifer beat Adam to a pulp bare handed. Perhaps high ranking demons do stand a slim chance against an exorcist, even if not using Angelic Steel

@@blackrose1293 that's because Lucifer himself was an angel and currently is a fallen angel. It makes sense why he is the only being in hell that can hurt angels with their own power. Possibly Charlie can

I feel like Alastor didn't try in the fight but acted like he did. Oh well, probably just thinking too much.

Cope, he just wasn't strong enough, there are characters that Alastor can't deal with and Adam just happens to be one of them. I mean, he just beat Charlie who we all know is stronger than Alastor. Guess there are some perks with being the first man of creation.

I believe that he was held back. Due to his end song he mentions his deals “have a back door.” And “he craves freedom.” “When his wings are clipped he’ll be pulling all of the strings.” So I feel whatever deals he made are holding his power back. Plus he hasn’t been as care free destroying everything since he admitted he has grown attached to the others. So he could be a little softer

@@planetdorkpeebs Softer towards those he cares about, not enemies. Even if he was held back by the deal, his weakened state wasn't enough to even damage Adam. Empowered, I'd think that he'd put up a better fight, but still lose. It's already been stated that while Alastor is strong he's only stronger than the other overlords. He's still ultimately weaker than a lot of the higher ranking individuals in Hellaverse and Adam as First Man would rank high up there seeing as he's the leading exorcist thus why he was still able to take down Charlie.
