Sovereign had been holding Valencia for months. Odz, leader of Resilience, assembled an alliance of guilds and mercenaries to take them down. My guild was part of that alliance. But while sieging one of the member of the alliance turned traitor and started attacking our rear bases so we had to deal with them first. A single musa racked up more than 300 kills by attacking the backlines and respawning players. The siege took 3 hours but we emerged victorious. The following week Sovereign took Calpheon, changed their guild picture from the wheelchair symbol straight to the one leaning forward and then steamrolled their way back to Valencia after that. Perfect

So much nostalgia. Huge shout out to you and Heedun for this lovely trip through memory lane. I've been through all of it. My most cherished gaming memory was fighting Manup in a Balenos siege back when DP memes were OP. I had, to my knowledge, the highest DP attained in the game at the time 442DP. I stood on their fort the entire siege axing them down and nobody could scratch me. I remember one of the top whales at the time Hyoja, nearly hardcap player, stopped mid war to ask me what my gear was after he failed to kill me with a combo. There's still so many amazing moments in history to talk about. You could make a whole other video on sea monster hunting, the mapping exploit, horse forechop hunting, afruaru chests, CTG trade turn-ins, etc.

Because at the time, i was one of the devs of bdoplanner (we shutdown in 2022 after 6 years of working on it/running it as a 2 man team) and i had the wonderful job of adding all those hidden stats to each and every freaking item in our database. Yeah that was rough. I still have the original leak files too. :) I don't think I've ever recovered from it. lol How do you not have 1M subs yet? C'mon ppl! Smash the button!

This MMO would've been to old for many here, but my favorite memory was in Star Wars Galaxies, an open world MMO sandbox set in the star wars universe. It was a unique game in that there was no set classes, but there were like 50-60 professions (entertainers, blastermen, commandos, snipers, scouts, droid engineers etc. There was also no jedi class at launch (or at least we thought). I used to be an active PVP'er. At the early games release, most PVP would be groups forming in a mainly rebel or imperial city to invade each other and overrun them. On my server, we had FAR more rebels than imps. We would routinely form a raid of like 50-100 players and completely overrun the closest imperial city (bestine) for hours. One fateful day, around christmas 2003 i believe, (huge number of players online) we formed a MASSIVE raid of like 200 rebels and ran at Bestine to crush them. We swiftly took over half the city, gloating in chat and having a blast, then out of the corner of my eye i see a massive figure. I turn to see an AT-AT. Then i realise there isn't just one, but like 10 of them approaching Bestine. We did not even know these existed in the game, let alone having ever seen one. Teamspeak comms exploded with people losing their shit in excitement, awe and terror. We slowly realise what is happening.. The admins have come to the aid the imperial scum! We relish in the challenge and dive headlong into the ranks of NPC AT-AT's and stormtroopers. Absolute chaos ensues with huge explosions and blaster fire everywhere. We manage to take down one of the AT-AT's and roars of triumph erupt from teamspeak. I look around and see scores of Imperial players have noticed whats happening and are rejoining the fray with renewed vigor. The last of the AT-AT's goes down and we turn to fight the remaining imperial players. Then, a ship descends, and a server wide message appears on the centre of the screen "Darth vader has sensed a disturbance in the force", and there he is - walking out of the shuttle. The dark lord himself, saber drawn (none of us had ever even seen a saber or jedi in game). The admins spawned in Darth Vader himself!!!!! Vader only existed in the game as a non-combatant NPC that gave some quests etc. But here he was in all his glory, and MAN was he strong. Needless to say, you couldn't really hear anything on Teamspeak with all the screaming and shouting, lol. The battle raged on for a while, until Vader wiped the floor with all of us. At that time there were no jedi, and crafters couldn't / hadn't even made saber resistant armor yet. He pretty much 2-3 shotted everyone LOL. The imperial players rejoiced in one of their very few victories. Yet we had all had the most EPIC experience ever, I made lifelong friends that day. I still have no idea if the Vader was a skin controlled by an admin with a template of the jedi class that hadn't been released yet, or if he was just a spawned in NPC that they had created but never used. Any other SWG vets see anything like this?
