That's not true. Bajirao is very much respected for his valor and bravery. However, he too was a human being and had committed grave mistakes like cheating and misogyny in his personal life, which were shown in this film to give just an alternate perspective on how a 'legendary' figure like him who is so respected was also; in fact, a normal human being with sins. Nothing wrong with it. The janta deserves to know both sides of the coin.

I'm not Indian but I felt patriotic as heck. 10 out of 10 Edit: I didnt know this song wasnt patriotic, I dont understand the language so I relied on visuals seeing men returning from battle with flags and the masses celebrating gave me the impression. All those feeling bad for kashi, did you curse jodha too? 3rd wife of Akbar. Eeryone says Jodha with Akbar, other wives are forgotten. Reason mastani was not accepted is that she was Muslim. Marathas were at war with Mughals. Bajirao saw a warrior in mastani, not her religion. Point which every other maratha missed. Polygamy was a reality back then, to forge political relations. Jodha ke aane se toh Akbar ki bhi pehli 2 biwiya bura maani hongi.

Thus why permission was needed from the 1st or main wife to let another woman in the family. As far as I know. That permission was reluctantly given by Kashi out of pure love for Rao. (Cause she does welcome Mastani). At least that is how this movie has depicted it. The movie is not historically accurate. No one is curisng any woman. At least not outside the movie. But one can sympathize with Kashi of this movie. And even feel wronged for her.

If you're cribbing about Maratha warriors not being in 6-8 th class ncert books, I don't think you properly studied the books. Maratha Empire's accomplishments were covered very well in Later Indian history (8th class) ncert books. It was enough for children studing in that standard. These books are after all made for children belonging to class 6-8. We can't push that much knowledge into these kids. Idk about the 11 and 12 history since I was from science. I can't speak about that.

Hence they have a detailed focus on delhi sultanate, mughals and rajputs, while other regional history is sidelined. Like for eg, considering south indian history, there's like a few lines on chola, pandya and vijaynagara empires and a detailed account of bhakti movement out there.

@@abcatos no invasion was underway at that time, at least not by Mughals. Mughals were pretty much Indian at that point, they were no longer foreigners. The war was a power struggle, the Mughals had declined and Marathas were trying to fill the hole they left. The struggle was either for taking Delhi (Marathas and Mughal nobility of Turco-mongol faction) or for independence from it (Rajputs, Nizam and Bengali nobles).

@@indiangirl001 Aurangzeb laid a large campaign in 1680s to destroy Marathas in Deccan...he himself led his army of 5 lakhs against the few thousand Marathas... Inspite of being huge in strength and resources as compared to the Marathas, Mughals were struggling for years to capture a single small Maratha fort like ramsej.. still there were 300 forts left 😂 after getting whacked by the Marathas finally the Mughal campaign ended with the death of their traumatized emperor Aurangzeb... Poor one wasn't able to return back to Delhi... Marathas dug his grave In the soil of Deccan.. I hope u got your answer... Your so called ancestors who converted u were weak😊

Most deserving after these two raje is Maharani Tararani who was in league of shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj. She was greatest visionary and strategem master . Only if she could have ruled maratha would have captured delhi in 1710's instead of 1750. Also maratha would have modernised empire like menji japan and history would way different that it is today. She realy all this in her mind ,she had even instructed how to capture delhi ,Lahore ,Bengal and South India alas shahu became chatrpati and whole empire became visionless after his death
