Question is why doesn't anyone seem to question the 300 for a Jack Wolf that is production outside the country? I don't mean that to sound aggressive, but people seem to balk at 200+ dollar slip-joints with traditional materials that are handcrafted and not CNCed but will consider $300 titanium clad slip-joints total bargains. I'm a bit ill so this might sound more like a rant, but I mean it as a kind of existential question. Is myth about material replacing ideas on craft? Does something beautifully made with wood covers and VG10 steel by one person fall to second place over Titanium and magnacut made consistent in batches. Should fit and finish that is exacting through .00001 tolerances on a keyboard be judged on that same scale as tolerances that are done by eye? Again, just questions.

Not trying to sound argumentative. But A LOT of people do complain about the fact that JWK go for $300 when it’s made overseas. A lot of these KZbinrs in the knife community get them for free so they rarely mention the price tag as a negative but if you go into the comments you’ll see people saying it’s not worth the price. I’ll give them props though their knives are at least good quality and have solid fit n finish, I would get one in the secondary if they were like $175 but that’s the great thing about being in a capitalist economy, if you don’t want to buy it then don’t and if you do then do.

Thanks. Though to be clear, I'm not really bitching about the price. Like you say, you can charge what ever you want for a knife, if I don't like the price I don't have to pay. I just was musing on that old cliche of value. What we see as being "worth" something and what takes back on that. How do we come to see that automated machined perfection of integral titanium is "worth" 300 and the imperfection of handmade makes it iffy at 250. If this isn't the forum for this kind of theorizing please forgive me. Thanks.@@CarvingSteel

@@thomreynolds1318 I gotcha, I think the fact that a majority of the knife community starts out with buying modern folding pocket knives might play a big role as to why some may not bat an eye at the JWK prices. I agree with you though when looking at handmade traditionals I take into account the amount of time and effort it takes to produce the final product, even if they are not titanium handles and made with S90V.

I like the packaging; no need for stickers, microfiber clothes, or other gimmicks. However, I do appreciate a quality leather slip.
