I had the privilege of seeing Albert Lee last night in a small venue in Bromsgrove, he is the complete musician, brilliant technique, heart and soul by the bucketful and what a lovely guy! The best guitarist in the world is not an inappropriate title and not the slightest hint of ego. I hope he goes on forever, a true hero to anyone who loves music.

Albert Lee is awesome. Didn't realize he was English till I heard him speak at the intro to this video. Amazed that he was not "discovered" in the '60s when I grew up in London England and was crazy about the Stones, Beatles, Chuck Berry, and ga-zillion English groups who have now vanished from the music scene. So glad that Albert Lee has survived so well. He belongs to the top elite of R&R particularly the subset of the "English Invasion". Thanks for the post.

Albert has indeed been at it now for a very long time.He has probably forgotten more on the guitar than most of us will ever learn.Speaking of times past for those of you under 30 who may not have ever heard them check out Heads Hands and Feet one of Albert's early bands and a really great one at that.

Albert is a total stud on the git-box. It's nice to see that age isn't slowing him down. He still sounds great and plays stuff that makes even professional musicians tingle with envy. Thanks a lot for the video!

Mouldytone, you are a godsend. Thank you very much for sharing your Albert Lee treasury. I love You Tube for this very reason. Seeing and hearing Albert Lee's stellar musicianship. It's videos like yours. Mouldytone, that make a sweet alternative to TV. Thank you very much!!!

I hate letting the "old bird" in me out of her cage, Tony, but I have to say this about the old days: There was always room for talent. Even with all the channels, stations, and streams nowadays, you don't see anything approaching Albert Lee's musicianship. Today's Top 40 is one imitator imitating the one who came before. Next one up is always a little louder and "bling"-ier than the last. Thank you for sharing this wonderful, articulate, timeless virtuoso with us. Albert Lee is the greatest!

Lots of people talk about how well people play the guitar, but Albert Lee plays great, like Chet Atkins, and he can sing. To me that puts him up there with Glen Campbell and Roy Clark. All of them musical geniuses.

The thing with Albert Lea which is really unique and what a lot of people don’t realize is that he’s not just got great technique and speed. The biggest thing that makes him stand apart from other players is his ability to improvise and play the piece of music completely differently every time he plays it, the endless ideas that he produces with speed fluency timing and swing is never the same every time he plays them . I am not sure how he does this because lots of guitarists can learn a solo or a challenging piece of music note for note by copying it, but Albert will play it different every night and it will sound incredible.

I saw Albert in 1972 in London with Head, Hands, and Feet. wow!! It was a very strange band, but whenever he got a solo the hairs would stand up on the back of my neck. He has 2 or 3 excellent solo albums from back in the 80's worth buying if you can find them.

I have been listening to this guy forever. Some friends mixed him up with Alvan Lee. OK. sorta the same sounding But: Albert is absolutely amazing. He is Doc Watson to Johnny Winter to Segovia to Duane, to Eric, to George to The Jazz, country and ??? Greats. All at once. Yeah, the Man can play! And he lifts me every time I need it. Thanks, Mr. Lee!!!!!

THE MOST fun I have ever had watching a guitarist live and I have seen many, not to mention having been one, was watching Albert at the old Agoura Valley Inn and other local "holes in the wall". Even nowadays when there are a lot more who play similar styles, Albert's "homemade" style of pickin' is just more fun than any other guitarist for my money!
