We've got a Steve Ovett statue near East Brighton parkrun along the seafront down here but not on the parkrun route itself! Super running Dawn, look forward to seeing the return visit to get that extra second 😁

Fantastic job Dawn (and great pacer)! Joint record holder, congratulations! What an age grading too! Enjoyed this video, not least for the audible effort and the amazing work putting that run out after the runs you did in the days before, but also as this is my hometown local Parkrun and the first course I ever did back in 2014. I know the effort required on that uphill slope, gets me every time! Great to see some of my friends in the video, which I'll share with them, including Jason who finished just in front of Two Running Brooms!.

Thanks! It's a super course, but yes, that slope gets you! Glad you enjoyed the video. 😁

Great running, Dawn! Also, massive kudos to the guy pushing the buggy. Depending on how old the child is, that's a serious weight to push! I do say things to myself out loud too... Usually not very nice things though at that stage of a run 😂

Yes, the guy with the buggy was very strong! 🙂

I had a Birds Eye view of your attempt trying to keep up with you, put everything into a 22:47, last week ran 22:20 at Hartlepool so with no wind can be very fast. Hope I get a chance to chase you again soon well done Dawn that was awesome.

Just one second! I bet that was frustrating but I don't think you could have put in any more effort! 👏 I have an issue with single seconds too - today I equalled my home parkrun course PB for the 3rd time this year. Just can't find that one second! 😭😂

Good vid. “Funny” building excitement for something only you knew about. I would be a lot more pleased equalling a record than being a second slow so well done especially if not feeling it. I did ah hook up a camera to that buggy - they are allowed. I passed one today and thought well multiple camera mounting options…
@tworunningbroomsАй бұрын
Thanks, Tim. I was pleased, but not as much as 1 sec would've made me. 😅 Another attempt possibly before the end of the year. That guy with the buggy was moving some! He must be quite quick without it. Never thought of the camera opportunities... 😅

Great running Dawn, have another crack at it soon. John how do you know Albert park in Melbourne? are you a motor racing fan? They have a huge parkrun there as well.
@tworunningbroomsАй бұрын
Thanks. John knows about Albert Park, Melbourne due to just general knowledge and me giving him some wrong facts about Albert Park, Middlesbrough. 😅
@davidwatkins4286Ай бұрын
Interesting that your first trip to Albert in 2008 was the same day that Shirley Gibson set the Vet 60 target. Shirley was 20th that day, Dawn was 8th and I was 7th! Yesterday, 16 years later I was 17th, 3rd on age grade, behind Dawn in 1st place.
@tworunningbroomsАй бұрын
What a seiries of coincidences. We may well be back in the near future as 1. Dawn would like one second quicker and 2 I'd like to give it a bash and try to get within 3 mins of my pb.
@davidwatkins4286Ай бұрын
Correction. Shirley set the record of 20:54 in 2009, not that day in 2008, when she ran 22:37.

I haven't done Hartlepool (though have done the Marina race) so if it's the course I'm thinking I bet it's as flat as near possible.
@NickG24Ай бұрын
Pulled my calf trying a fast one there a few weeks ago 🤦🏻♂️ I think Hartlepool is quicker too, as long as it’s not too windy. Only one turn, almost completely flat so nothing much to slow you down other than wind.

do you know how dangerous running with both hands in pockets is - i had a colleague who did that walking through Paris. He turned to chat but hit a bollard and was in hsospital for weeks with multiple fractures and he was a young gun
@tworunningbroomsАй бұрын
It was a matter of seconds to the car and a slow jog. Thanks for sharing, and I hope the young gun healed well! 🙏

@@tworunningbrooms it was catastrophic for him. Thats why i share and i never ever move with 2 hands in my pocket. I am an engineer with a focus on Safety. Not being a troll - as many shoe-tubers accuse you of when you say anything that isnt inflating their egos! I enjoy your vlogs. and, sorry; well done on the record - i am fed up with Park Run because they cancelled all this. How do you know what the records are?
@tworunningbroomsАй бұрын
Safety is, of course, very important! The 5k app (purple background with white silhouette) still has the records. You go to Events the detailed stats and they are there.
