The perfect ending would be him signing a 2 year 20 mill deal with the Rockies. He could hit 50-60 home runs there over the next 2 years. His chase for 762 would make the Rockies a lot of money and get the fans to show up at the park. Because they won’t be winning anytime soon.

For me I am probably one of the few people that believed Albert had more in him to reach 700 home runs. I saw when he reached 500 and loved to see him play for the time in Anaheim. For now I belive he may be almost over but, not yet until I see him not play next year, the Cardinals players seem to want him to play atkeast another season. For me if he ends this year, I would not worry and remember his legacy and be glad what he does next if it's coaching or doing something else. I never got see him play with Cardinals years before but glad to see him play in Anaheim and see him play with the Cardinals this season. I loved every moment of it even when he struggled in Anaheim. Thanks for anyone reading this and have a better day.

I hope he doesn’t decide to playa another year. He ended his career beautifully. Reaching 700 home runs in a Cardinals uniform. Playing side by side with his best friend in the game Yadi who is also retiring this year. He broke a ton of records not just the 700 hr. And you also realize that the last series at every stadium Yadi and Pujols would be given gifts and celebrated. So Pujols coming back next year would make this year look kinda stupid.

In my opinion AP knew he would not be tested for PEDs in the second half of the season. I believe he was given this information and he got on something strong to finish the season and his career. Because MLB knew it would be good for baseball for AP to reach 700 HR. I don't know how anybody could not find the numbers he put up down the stretch suspicious. AP had been just average the last ten years and absolutely horrendous the last two plus years leading up to the all star break. AP is hitting .198/.291/.333 with 4 HR thru 47 games on July 9th. Then for the next 62 games AP hits .320/.384/.702 with 20 HR. AP was on something. C'mon now. No doubt about it.

Numero uno. The four behind him are Miggy, Cal Jr, Pudge Rodriguez and Hank Aaron. If you have to be tops in a negative stat, that not bad company to keep. Pujols is the only one to break 400 with 426 total though Miggy is still playing with 353 currently. Pujols is tied for 19th for the most GIDPs in a season (29). With Jim Rice having the first and second spots (36 & 35). And Jim Rice just barely has the highest per season average of GIDPs over Pujols. Of course that's a result of Rice playing only 16 seasons to Pujols' 22. Aren't stats fun?
