@GregGushway 1 hour ago Love your enthusiasm! Love Castle have skied it for years. My son and I hit it every year and many, many times we have come just after an overnight dump. Too bad you had a low snow day but that is what it has been like this season (23/24). The wind sift grooms the slopes every night and leaves this buttery sift that is like skiing in icing sugar even if it hasn’t snowed. The unbroken fall lines to be had are the greatest. The chute side offers the best and longest unbroken fall line steeps I know of. The tree runs in the north bowl are awesome too. Parking is usually really close to the main lodge, which is refreshing. Occasionally the tamarack lift is clogged due to a pow day turn out, as everyone and their dog abandons their gainful employment for face shots at Castle. The Tamarack can have wind closures so it is often wise to check on the conditions before making the trek, however you can always alt to Fernie which is only an hour down the road and usually has great snow. Keep up the great work!

Also for yours & the viewers info, Castle has purchased the -Goat's Eye- Angel Express High speed chair from Sunshine Village. Not sure where they're going to put it, or if they'll replace one of the old horses, but things are moving and shaking around Castle this year. You also completely missed the Huckleberry chair. Of course it's a way smaller section of the hill, and it's mostly groomies, but it's a wicked side for shredding hot laps, and the Cat skiing gate is at the top. The ridge continues up and you can ski the back side of that, too, as if there wasn't already plenty of epic to be had in bounds.. Open to public skinning & boot packing most Tuesday's & Wednesdays, when conditions permit.

I enjoyed the road trip part at the beginning of the video; it's fun seeing what you go through to get to your destination. I hope your truck has a really big gas tank because the cost of filling it is as scary as the lift lines you show at Whistler. Castle looks great in a primitive, positive, kind of way. I'm interested in the Zeal glasses. I have a problem with goggles which pinch my nose while wearing a Scott Symbol 2 Plus helmet, this inhibits my ability to breath through the nose. It looked like the Zeal was wide over the nose and doesn't squeeze the nostrils. Is that correct?

I find that they feel good around the nose, but every face is different. If you send me an email or an instagram DM I'll fire you back a sweet discount code you can use across the website!

Bummer you ended up coming with coverage being sub-par. Most of the mountain is riding much better now after the big snowfall helped bury the bushes and rocks. Castle is still lots of fun though. The chutes are my personal favorite area to head to.

Glad to hear it got my snow. Honestly, you know a mountain is real good when you have a blast with a lower than average tide. I'll be back for sure!

The Fords in BC are also saying 5L engines are on like a 9 month wait list or something ridiculous. You'd expect an engine to last longer than 230,000km

Castle mountain is great, but you have to know how the wind affects the mountain.
@riseandalpine8 ай бұрын
100% - once you get an understanding of the wind you must always be able to ski fresh snow!
@jameslee79618 ай бұрын
I’ve seen you both camp and hotel on your ski trips. Obviously hotel is way more comfy, would you say the luxury justifies the cost? I’ve been debating whether or not kit out a small van for ski trips or just find cheap accommodations… would love to hear your thoughts on pros cans cons… maybe even make a video for it!
@riseandalpine8 ай бұрын
Sounds like a fun video idea. Truck camping is tough with ski gear. If you can get a cheap motel it's my preference to get everything dry and get work done as well. A van or camper with heating would work great but my truck is pretty bare bones for winter. In the summer I go 100% truck for all travel.
@jameslee79618 ай бұрын
Yeah you should definitely make a video for it! Love all the bangers you’ve been putting out!! 🤙
