• 0:23 the actual revolutionary thing about his art is he breaks already known concepts of landscapes. the concepts of quiet landscape • 1:13 in the end of his life, when he was 60, he portrays a sea landscape (?), the sun goes down, a quiet and not moving ocean, 5 ships where some of them come from/out of the sunset or move towards the sunset. the artist shows the process of life. the five people in the foreground also symbolise the process of life but in different levels/ages. from young children to an old man. that old man represents the artist who is at the end of his life • 2:41 the 2 children are holding a Swedish flag because the east coast was owned/ used to be owned by the Swedish.
