OK, that's cool. I can see a number of useful applications for this device. USB fans, and other items that are comfort based, seem more gimmicky than anything. This looks quite useful. I can think of several home type applications.

How successful is it at detecting distant objects? Or how far away can we see clearly?

Far away objects lack definition since the resolution is somewhat low. You might be able to tell what it is depending on the outline of the object.
