I read that Gravity was written by a Shawol. I actually cried when I read the lyrics because they sprinkled in references to Jonghyun throughout the song. Blue Night is in reference to his radio show, there are references to his songs like End of a Day and You & I. Many Shawols also use the moon to represent Jonghyun. I think this song is about how Jonghyun keeps them together and grounded. It's so sweet.

I don’t know if anyone has already mentioned it, but Key has a tenor AND baritone voice, so his range it’s ridiculous…the octaves he reaches - low or high always leaves me speechless!! He really is capable of anything and delivers absolutely everything!! But SHINee is like that, a complete group

SHINee only knows how to make masterpieces! I'm biased, but Minho's solo album was topnotch, exactly what we get from each one of them as solo artists or as the legendary group they are. They show such versatility and their colour as soloists but somehow are also able the blend heavenly together 💎💙 Thank you for the review!

SHINee has been trying to maintain their own style in everything from the very beginning and that's why their albums are so refined and I always enjoy listening to them and I always feel how important it is for them to properly place a song on the album to reflect the atmosphere of the whole thing. You should listen to 'U Need Me' on SHINee's 3rd album. The song has a similar feel to 10X, and they used to carry this genre of song on their b-side for a long time. Personally, I think 10X is the most SHINee song.

Insomnia is the kind of song you listen to when you’re looking out of the window as it’s raining and you’re in your midnight feelings… thanks for reacting to the whole album! SHINee truly has one of the best and most diverse discography so I hope you got to listen to their older stuff as well in your own time. This album was a no skip album for me as usual and some of my faves is Satellite and Insomnia. If you have the time, they did a recording behind for Satellite so you can see that the “choir” is really just SHINee doing all the layering 😂

This album, more so than their other recent ones, is a return to some essential SHINee sounds. There are several songs that I just KNOW Jonghyun would have eaten up. They are right up his ally and his voice would have just added that je ne sais quoi. This album is immaculate as is though.

Thank you for reviewing Hard because it's another great, no skip album from SHINee. It says a lot that they're still going strong after 15 years in this type of industry! There are many great groups around, so we appreciate that you really "get" SHINee, their artistry, and their many contributions to KPop. I didn't pay attention to this type of music until mid 2022 when I found SHINee and they are the ONLY reason I decided to seriously listen to Korean music (not just KPop).

Ey yo.... GRAVITY is soo emotional song for me and i love it soo much...also this song has some symbolism for JONGHYUN as the name for hus past songs and his radio show BLUE NIGHT etc... So its very important as they talked about him metaphorically as GRAVITY

love that you checked out the album shinee will forever be my boys from the beginning. i gravitated mostly to like it, the feeling, and sweet misery for this album but all the songs are great shinee are such talents. also i’m sure others have said but i also love that gravity was written by a shawol lyricist who put in references with jonghyun which is so special. i hope you continue to look into shinee with new releases but also with older releases as jonghyun is my ult in kpop i just want him to be seen and appreciated and heard 💙

Like It and Juice were the 2 that caught my attention right away! After listening to the full album, I will say that I love Sweet Misery a lot too with Onew's voice in it. My favourite song from the album is "Gravity". I can't explain exactly what I felt when I listened to the song for the first time, it was similar to the calming sensation I get every time I listen to "End of a Day", but I also felt somehow overwhelmed, I cried, but I was also smiling... Then I found the translation and thought: "ok, it all makes sense now"

I thought this was an amazing first comeback album after they all finished with military service. I liked 8 of the 10 songs in it, and if you asked me which is my absolute fave song in the album, it would be soooo hard for me to narrow it down to just one song. I'd need to name 5 songs at best... Insomnia, 10X, Satellite, Hard, and Like It... ok ok ok if I'm really pressed hard to make a decision, then perhaps I'd pick Insomnia as my absolute fave in this album... omg, that was a really HARD decision to make though!

I have to shut my eyes sometimes with those lyric videos because they don’t always attribute lines to the correct singer. Like there were a few times Minho’s line was color coded to Key. It pulls me out of the experience. But that aside, I adored this album and really couldn’t pick a favorite song. I’ve been more in the mood lately for “The Feeling”. But “10x” has such a classic SHINee vibe. I think the one song you were talking about having a 2nd Gen sound really is more of a 2.5-3rd Gen sound (~2012-2013). Because 2nd Gen was really all over the place sonically between hits like Mirotic, Sorry Sorry, Gee, I Am The Best, Nobody, Ring Ding Dong. The song you were talking about didn’t sound like the late 2000s (2nd Gen), but more into the early 2010s (3rd Gen). A lot of 2nd Gen groups promoted during 3rd Gen era though. So… it’s kind of a mixed bag to attribute a type of music to a Gen of artists. It’s better to attribute it to a certain year or time period. Because when a music style is popular, ALL kpop artists latch onto it during that time period, regardless of when they debuted (debut year is what determines the “Gen” of a group). I do agree SHINee has had that sound before in the early 2010s, as did other artists (not 2nd Gen) who promoted during that time. As always, love your SHINee reactions! 🥰 I also always feel inspired when I hear their music. They’re the only group I will gladly preorder an album for having heard not one song. I trust they’ll put out something great.
