Judas Priest is what got me into metal. Sure, I listened to a Metallica song here and there, but it wasn't until I heard Painkiller that I legit got into it all. That album will immediately kick you in the fucking face. Literally life changing for me.

British Steel is an all time classic. Judas Priest have a lot of albums worth checking out. Sad Wings Of Destiny, Screaming For Vengeance and Painkiller for examples among others. Uncle Joey seeing Priest live in '79 is absolutely tremendous. Welcome to the land of the Metal Gods 🤘

You gotta throw Stained Class in there. That's better than British Steel, in my booklet.

Had a blue jean jacket, took the sleeves off, drew that logo on the back. 1st fn concert I saw in the Stanley Theater (now The Benedum) in Pittsburgh! Iron Maiden opened on the Killers Tour, Whitesnake middled (before the Tawny Kitaen stuff, and Priest was on Point of Entry. I bought every album I could find back to Rocka Rolla. But when I saw KK's hair on the back of Unleashed in the East, I had my mom dye mine! No guy did that here in 82, only that Sun In junk that made them look like orange haired clowns! My hair got to a handlength from my waist, dying it for 2 years. Thank you Joey! My ol lady loved you! You made her laugh a lot!!!! Lost her in July. Known her 35yrs so most of the music I loved was shared with her. I don't know how I'm still walking the earth without her.

That opening bass line in The Rage is one of Ian Hill's shining moments. Don't do speed and listen to Dissident Aggressor from Sin After Sin either!

Been really into metal lately and the song that solidified my love for it was the sentinel and heavy metal by priest. They've just got this rugged hard ass sound , it's something else. I could go on and on bout em🤘🏽unc joey clearly got good taste

Just listening to that album now. To be made in 1980. Man, shit was all record or cassette ?? Did cassette exist then? If not just shows what musicians had to do to make music. And pave the fucking way. Amazing

Halford grew up round the corner from my house, he was born over in Sutton Coldfield and raised on the Beechdale estate in Walsall, I could literally walk to his mom's old place now if I felt like it.
