Brilliant, thank you. Just finished a study of John Dee and his Monas and said to myself “Now I have to study alchemy” and this comes up. Thanks.

So on the road to utopia you study Shakespeare's world of human depravity?

I wonder if Ben Jonson's tribute to Shakespeare in the First Folio is partly alchemical.

He mentions brass in reference to the Droeshout engraving which was made in brass. Back then what was called "brass" was really an alloy of copper and tin (bronze) rather than the copper and zinc used today. Copper corresponds to Venus, who was the daughter of Jupiter, who corresponds to tin. Sorry. Not seeing any symbolism there.

@UCuQp8pkFJdaEuO4NBIf2v0Q Dude, I'm a letterpress printer. I've printed intaglio, lithograph, silk screen, you name it. I have a Linotype in my garage. You're not telling me anything I don't already know. But here's something you obviously don't know: in Early Modern English, "brass" was any copper alloy, including bronze. Nice try, but history bites you on the ass again.

alchemy was not on the fringe of society - that speaks volumes to the much more expanded consciousness of those times when compared to almost mindless shallow awareness of our own day

Jesus love you, he died on the cross for you, accept him as your lord and savior he can change everything. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life" (John 3:16) But you must repent too. From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near. (Matthew 4:17):
