UP bought 5 RS-2 1191 Feb-1947 1192, 1193, 1194 Feb-1948 1195 Jan-1949 In Oct-1955 they were renumbered 1291 to 1295 Re numberboards seems they had them once renumbered and only on the motor's front end. Most Alco diesels of the 40s-50s motor end was the front-end of the locomotive. At 3:10 discovered the bell above the front light, would be nice to paint it brass. There I was searching for the pole holes, would've been tiny dents in the stairframes. Was a habit from steam era to move cars on a different track using a pole from the engine/tender-diesel loco to the car. Thanks for the review John 👍🏻🤙🏻👏🏻 Saludos 🇦🇷 Argentina

I have an older Atlas RS1 ( I imagine the chassis is the same). It's a great little runner. I need to install a decoder in it someday.

Union Pacific and other railroads ran long hood forward because it was more familiar to engineers and was safer in a collision

I'm of the opinion that not every locomotive on the layout needs sound. Too much sound gets a bit overwhelming. When I pair locomotives up, I try and do one sound and the rest non-sound. And as you mentioned, non-sound is quite a bit cheaper!

Those look cool but im waiting on their RS-3 with sound. They announced it a long while back. 😡

Interesting they didnt add sound. But still a good looking model. Bit too old for my era or Id probably snag a few.
