Watching this at 2am hung over 😵 it’s crazy every time I have a few drinks I can’t stay asleep, and as I get older it definitely takes longer to recover. Good info 👍🏾

Yeah As I got older it would take me 4 days to recover but by then it was the weekend and since i was a weekend binge drinker, meant i was drinking again right as i was recovering. 12 months sober! Sober life is sooooo much better!

@@nihilist7942 I've noticed that the night that I get completely wasted, my sleep is horrible that night, but the following night, my sleep is great lol. So for example, say I get wasted on a Friday night, I wake up Saturday morning feeling horrible and tired still, but Saturday night, I usually sleep like a baby lol. And it doesn't matter what day it is, same thing for any day. Say I drink heavily Monday night, my sleep will be terrible Monday night, but Tuesday night, I will sleep like a baby.

I also came here to know why I can't sleep nicely after I drank alcohol...for me 1-2 hrs I sleep nicely after that I wake up and can't sleep for again 2-4 hours...

This is why my doctor gives me seroqil. Quietapine is the no name brand I also have sleep insomnia. It knocks me out and shuts off my 🧠

Dude… there are a lot of videos here about the same subject . But you nailed my problem . When I go on 3-4 day benders .. I eat no food , no water , then in recovery I can’t sleep at all due to crazy fd up dreams . They like burst dreams . In that they are short and repetitive and then end of the dream jolts me awake . It sucks cause I was not sure about this .thanks .

I did know that alcohol was not really productive to good sleeping but I did not know why. Like, I did not know that alcohol impeded melatonin production. Martin, you really did a great job here of explaining the reasons why alcohol is not a good way to help us sleep. Truly well done!

Well put together. I struggle with sleep and only get about 3 or 4 hours at a time. Matter of fact it's 5am and I woke up about an hour ago after going to sleep at 12am. I'm glad I just learned all this for future reference. I haven't turned to alcohol yet to help my sleep, and after watching this I don't think I ever will...Thank you!

when i drink, it feels like the whiskey is an earplug to the noisy world lol! I like when i get into deep sleep, i start to slightly talk and i catch my self and just smile about, but i am aware im sleeping. Pretty fun :)

Came here while drunk but apparently I've already watched the first few minuites of the video before and I know it wasn't tonight so I guess when I was blackout drunk before I looked this exact video up

Thanks, this helps a lot. I have been taking naps after. I drink beer the day prior. This makes sense because I have been losing sleep.

I have a weird relationship with alcohol I used to drink enough till it knocks me out now the same amount just makes me wake up every hour then can't get to sleep again

I just started taking one shot before bed. Of something like Jack Daniels, or Drambuie. And I can't believe I've been sleeping for the night. Just one shot no more. About 30 to 60 minutes before bed. For me it works.

i happen to goggle it and came across ur vid..... im a alcoholic and i have wild ass dreams,like atleast 4-8diff crazy ass dreams.....and sweat allnight .. even tho i came across ur vid im still not sure why i sweat all night.. its super unomphy and its anooying..... its not like im detoxing... iv been to few AND ITS HELLL....its just when im going to sleep i cant stop getting cold sweats... am i dehydrated? but that dosnt make sense in my head cuz i drink alot of water... idk man

anyone here in chat feel like invinceable to alcohol? i seen a pyschologist on my alcohol use and they prescribed me pills. i don't know if i should take them but, i have anxiety.

If you actually research melatonin it's not meant for you to sleep. It's suggested you take it for jet lag. And adjusting better to new time zones.

what do you mean by jet lag. Take melatonin supplements to give you energy? Melatonin is naturally produced by your body at night time

NOT EVEN CLOSE..I wanna who in the world actually sleeps better with alcohol flowing through their blood, short of a blackout. Caffeine isn't close to as bad at keeping me up or waking me up too early Edit: your button....

Alcohol improves my sleep a lot tbh, but only if I had 1 cider if I have more than that yes it messes up my sleep but just with one cider the next day I feel more refreshed, happier, less anxiety and depression and it even helps a lot with my ADHD, if I didn’t have alcohol the night before my sleep feels a lot worse and the symptoms or mental illnesses I have becomes a lot worse

I binge drink, only drink to get drunk... I don't lk he taste of alcohol but like the drunk feeling 🍻👌🏿but I can go without drinking for days it's not a problem..when I go out to eat I only have soft drinks while my friends may have a beer or a glass of wine. However.... After drinking my eyes r red, dry, heavy and days after I'm always sleepy....

I look at it like this alcohols like a sleeping pill . Pills shouldn’t be used regularly and sleeping pills won’t get u that deep deep sleep we need . But it’s better than not sleeping if used here and. There . Same with alcohol don’t depend on it and make shure u only have a couple . Anything more than this and it’s doing more harm than good

I don't really drink anymore because was causing major problems with my sleep. Days after drinking, I suffer from anxiety, insomnia and depression. Don't nothing good come from alcohol, it messes you up mentally and physically , it's straight up toxic to the body.

If I don't sleep it just doesn't work. Im on 6 hours a night for 3 days. Crazy. I get migraines when I don't sleep. Id probably have the whisky. One night fine 4 hell no. Pxxd off.

it doesn't really work . when I drink, it's either I can't sleep at all or I wake up in the middle of the night and the next morning feel like I've never got any sleep.

I dont drink alcohol very often. In fact I dont think I've had a drink in almost 20 yrs as I have children and I'm trying to instill good values in them so I dont even have any in my home. It's very unfortunate some have to drink to sleep I know it very negatively effects every part of your life, especially sleep
