New alcohol ink painting tutorial. Easy way (also for beginners) to make beautiful art with alcohol ink. It's all about learning to control the air - use low heat or cool air and something that is not to powerful.
It is the first time I'm using my new Remington hairdryer (it's very similar to the Revlon that I see many artist use)
It is a bit more powerful then my trusty old heat gun - so far I am liking my heat gun more but I might just need a bit more practice with the hairdryer. I will keep you updated in a upcoming video.
In this piece I have used Nara paper, of course, and also Copic N5, Piñata Sangria, Ranger silver mixative and 99% isopropyl alcohol.
For the details at the end I used a very small pointy brush - just a cheap one I bought at a local store, nothing fancy.
As always, I hope you enjoyed the video and found it helpful in some way.
You are more then welcome to subscribe, like and comment. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer you.
Thank you for watching.

Love this piece! Some important things I’m learning from your tutorials: take your time, and don’t hesitate to use your finger to get the ink where you want it! I know you decided the green wasn’t right for this piece, but what colour and brand was it? It’s a gorgeous colour!

Very pretty, enjoyed your process. I have just started inks, and it is so much harder then acrylic pouring which I have been doing for two years. But where there's a will there is a way. Subscribed, and keep making wonderful videos. Stay safe.

I have been using Grafix Plastic and the pinata brass doesn't look beautiful like yours. Will Nara paper help me get the metallic effect like yours? I love it but have tried many techniques and nothing works to get the brass to look artistic. Thank you for any help!!!
@randihart5731
@randihart5731 2 жыл бұрын
It could be the brass that’s the problem- there has apparently been a bad batch. I’ve heard from many who can’t get to look the way it’s supposed to - it just sinks to the bottom and blends in. And it’s always the big bottles. Are you using one of the big bottles? (Pretty sure it’s not the paper)
@doreenfong6264

@@randihart5731 Many Thanks for your suggestion! I just bought a new small bottle and it works much better! It's unfortuante that I wasted money on the large bottle from Amazon! I did read one other review which mentioned the same problem. After 2 years of working with the defective ink I'm happy to create nicer art with the new Pinata Brass. I still need to work on getting the more prominent streaks like yours. Mine are finer lines ... maybe I need to use more brass and try the 99% alcohol. I've been using 91%. Thank you again!!!
