As usual your tutorials are great and really easy for even beginners to understand. Watching this older one comparing the bullet and brush tips reminds me of how happy I was when Ohuhu came out with their brush and bullet markers which I have and love. For a long time they were very difficult to find and the Spectrum Noir illustrator markers were the only ones I could find with that combo. It's still rare but now more companies are realizing that some artists really like that combo and are offering sets like that!! For a long time I used the bullet tip on my older chisel and bullet markers along with my brush markers but it is so nice to have it all in one marker so you don't have to worry about color matching etc.!!!

HI there Lindsay! I'm waiting for my markers to come in, I ordered the 12 set from your favorites on Amazon. I loved coloring along with you! This is the first time I followed along and did have to pause often but WOW, I learned so much in this video. Although I used a different brand that I got in today, my bird's of Paradise flowers came out darn good, thanks to you! Loved this!!! Thank you so much for doing this for us. Hugs!

Your bird of paradise is really pretty. Thank you for the different options to print out. Big thank you for doing side by side brush vs bullet marker coloring techniques. Very helpful for me. I’m hoping you will do another Sharpie, Bic, Dollar Tree, etc alcohol marker challenge. Their tips color differently than artist markers. I have Copics, Spectrums, etc but I have regular Sharpies, Bics and generics too. It’s fun to use them all :)

I didn’t have a set of alcohol markers , so I ordered these from Amazon. I love them , very nice markers for the price, and I am very excited to use them. I love to lay them down and use color pencil on top . They work together so nice.

LOL Seriously though, thank you for this tutorial! ❤️😘 I so want to be able to use Markers for cards and colouring die cuts for in my journaling and now seems as good a time as any to begin to play. 😍

Lindsay, your sketches are so beautiful. I loved this tutorial and the free sketch. Have you ever thought of making a book of your sketches for sale? I love your birds, fish and flowers. You could even make 2 books. One with nature, as previously mentioned and one with objects like bottles, fruit, geodes, etc. You do such good work and I would love to color anything that you sketch. I am still honing my drawing and watercolor skills. I think that this would be helpful. Perhaps you could also do a step by step drawing in the pages. Oh the possibilities.

Lindsay, I’m so glad I found this tutorial on the actual working of the brush, bullet, chisel & how to decide. I purchased the tri blend bullet tips last year. They were on a great sale because the brush tips were coming out. ( which I didn’t know anything about). But I’m sure thats why they were at such a good price. Then I purchased 2 sets of illustrator also bullet single colors to fill in. (On sale too). Then on a year end sale, Altenew had a box of 12 “tropical” brush tip markers, on sale. but I found I didn’t like them as well as the bullet tip . The colors were weird and the numbering confused me. But, I mentioned it to you & you really liked the Altenew brush markers. So I purchased the primary set of 12 because they gave you a free class. Thinking it must be me. But now, I’m thinking the problem is more to do with the projects. I’m coloring stamps. Most with small areas. The bullet tip is preferable for those little areas, at least until you learn the to use the brush tips. I loved your comparison & how & when to use the chisle tip. I was quite surprised to find these markers in your link still works & even cheaper than when you did this video. Brush tip around a $1.00+ & the nib bullet tip 50¢ prox. I’m thinking about the bullet tip Pastels. Do you still get paid? The bullet nib tip says .07 mm which seems like a fine line, so will check into first.

No, watercolor paper is too absorbant. You want marker paper, Bristol or cardstock.

That would be getting a hard ruffled edge where the ink had backrun a bit, it's more of a watercolor issue tho

Thanks for another demo of something I always wanted to know about. What is the difference between an alcohol marker and a copic (coptic?) marker? And what's all the buzz about painting with alcohol ink?
@thefrugalcrafter5 жыл бұрын
Copic is a popular brand of alcohol marker and is often used to refer to alcohol markers and the techniques. Alcohol ink paintings ate done with bottled ink and very popular now.

Hi Lindsay-Thanks for another great video! I recently purchased a few packs of spectrum noir illustrator markers. I found them very inexpensively on eBay,, and I was drawn to them because they have a brush tip and a bullet tip, which is hard to find - and they’re refillable. They don’t seem to be very popular, (any thoughts on that?) but I’m not a fan of the chisel, having tried a few chisel tip markers previously. I plan to rewatch both segments, as I have a lot to learn. I’ve been playing and practicing on my own, and although it’s fun, I’m eager to improve. Thanks again!
@thefrugalcrafter5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure as I have never tried the illustrator line. I have some originals but I have other markers I prefer so I don't use them as often but I do mix and match all my brands and they work well together. I think the popularity comes down to what you can find to buy easily and price.

@@bethstohl-reiland7873 Hi Beth, I heard back from Bianyo and they have no idea why Amazon won't ship to Alaska but they have a query in with them to find out.
