4th day sober today, present symptoms are anxiety, poor sleep and worries about the present and oncoming adjustment period. I am more determined mind you. Hope you and I can stay sober. Good luck folks

Same as you, headaches, anxiety, feeling strange, Panicky. I was drinking a few beers everyday for 2 months, don't think I was dependent, maybe I stopped too quick. Idk how about you ?

Everyone says its important to seek professional help like most of us (in the U.S) can afford professional medical treatment?? Not to mention the time off work it would take. Im doing this at home by myself. Hope it goes well. So far so good, im almost 48 hours in. So far no significant symptoms. Taking milkthistle for the liver damage, imodium for the diarrhea and drinking lots of water. Eating and trying to keep lots of electrolytes in my system. Good luck to everyone 🙏

It's not the alcohol withdrawal you have to worry about, it the months of recovery is the hardest. Brain fog, extreme fatigue, muscle and stomach aches. You're likely to catch flu like symptoms which will last for weeks. I'm 7 weeks in and suffering what I explained.

Ian you don't have to worry about the alcohol withdrawal. You do know it's one of two drugs where withdrawals can kill you alcohol and benzos being the two. And the withdrawal timeline is it never goes away, you take thiamine, do exercise hoping that your brain and body will work normally one day after decades of drinking every waking minute but it never does. You have basically taken the chemical your brain has had every second of your life since about 9 years old it isn't going to recover from that when you are 40 no chance

Yes gastrointestinal disturbances and diarrhoea. The symptoms of that last longer than they make out, I guess it takes time for the gut to heal itself I had gut problems for months, before it finally cleared up.

Perfectly normal just try not to focus on it as then you get into the anxiety cycle and it lasts longer. Easier said then done I know but trust me it will slowly get better and one day you won't even notice it
