I really appreciated seeing how you "fixed" the spot of ink. I adore the backlighting idea. It would be fun to create a night light for a child/baby's room. Guess I have another new project on my horizon. Thanks Vera!!!

Thanks so much Ellen, I’m so happy you enjoyed!! If you use the Artist-Tac, I recommend using a plain sheet of scrap paper instead of the backer sheet that came with the product so you don’t get glue dots on the front of your art like I did! I can’t wait to see what you create!

@WorthingtonFineArt
@WorthingtonFineArt Жыл бұрын
Thank you Rita, I’m so happy you enjoyed! If you don’t have a Cricut, you can use an Xacto blade to cut out your silhouette, I just find the Cricut faster, plus it cuts while I’m doing other things. My KZbin channel is WorthingtonFineArt, but I don’t have a project like this on there… yet! This is the first time I’ve tried this as I wanted to come up with a new creative idea for this Grafix and Alcohol Ink Art Community collaboration. But if you follow me, perhaps there will be more like this in the future 😊

I love the finished product but still not sold on a @Cricut. Takes up too much space and expense to buy and supply. An hour, it doesn't even save time? This felt like a Cricut tutorial for the well-off hobbyist, not me. If the Cricut isn't in your art corner of the kitchen table either, check out Francine's video in this series for her excellent tutorial for cutting Grafix products with an Exacto knife. Again I love the concept of this project not the execution

I think it’s a fantastic execution. I don’t have a Cricut either and I am not planning on purchasing one anytime soon but I do love how she explains how to do this without the Cricut. Some videos aren’t for everyone and that’s okay because it’s a beautiful diverse world out there and life would be pretty boring if we all did the same thing.
@WorthingtonFineArt

I'm glad you like my project and I realize this isn't for everyone, as everyone doesn't have a Cricut (though A LOT of people do), but *EVERYONE* can use this as inspiration to create their own project from. If you actually watched my video, I said early on that you do not need a Cricut to create this project, you can draw on the back of the Durabright and cut your design out with an Xacto knife, though I'm sure it'll take at least 50 minutes (total cut time for this tree of life) but probably a lot longer for an intricate design like this, not to mention your hand will likely hurt afterwards, so you may need to do a complex design in a few sittings to save your hand. And the Cricut DOES save time as while the design was cutting, I was doing other things- like painting the sunset part of the project (you can hear my Cricut running in the background). I'm a big fan of multi-tasking, and I have things to do other than watch my Cricut for an hour. I also make a lot of jewelry with my Cricut - when I first brought my jewelry designs to a vending event, I profited way more than enough to pay for the machine (that was actually a gift), so my Cricut gets a lot of use. I welcome you to check out some of my jewelry at www.VeraWorthington.com
