I started drinking slow to get rid of social anxiety and after about a few years it turned into drinking alone in the evenings and then my morning started to feel really bad, so I started drinking in the mornings to get rid of the bad feelings..fast forward two more years and I was drinking every day from morning to evening. I was always drunk at work but nobody could tell i was drunk because you can't smell vodka and my tolerance was really high...at lunch time everyone would go to restaurant to eat and I would go to the liquor store to get my vodka refill... I was no longer having fun, I felt like shit, I would drink just to not to feel so shit. I went to rehab many times and it didn't help at all, the day I was out I would go drink again..eventually it got so bad I lost my job because I had a hard time moving or talking or eating, my body was getting very weak and I was shaking and sweating and just felt completely sick. One day I decided to quit cold turkey, it was the hardest thing to do in my life, it was late summer, I wrapped myself in a blanket, started to drink water and threw up for the next two days, then the throwing up stopped but the shaking remained and my mind was all over the place, I did not talk to a single person for like a month because I dind't have the patience. After about a month it started to slowly get better, I bought bike and started riding, my sleep got better, my pee turned clear...I did all that not because I wanted to quit but because I wanted alcohol to feel good when I needed it. So, should there be a really special time when I wanna drink, I want to feel drunk and good like I used to many years ago. This was a great learning experience for me. I have not had a drink in two years because I haven't been part of an occasion good enough for me to get drunk. I now need a reason to drink and there are no reasons.

Mate, what do you think of non alcohol beers, I have started to take to so, it seems to help a bit. Any takes you have would be most helpful. Anyway good channel

Thanks John, glad you like the channel. My take on alcohol free "drinks" is 'to each their own', but you have to decide for yourself why you want them--is it to"fit in"? (that's bollocks), personally don't pretend to drink alcohol... is it to "relax or unwind"? There are loads of ways to do that (meditation, exercise, hobbies, etc..) I was never a beer or wine drinker, my poison was whisky and coke, and I gave up coke with the whisky. All the best Mate.

Cheers, and look forward to watching your channel, I do know whisky, I myself used to drink with red lemonade, will try the things you said, cycling might be a good thing to take up

Kind of sad but looks like he might have relapsed. This sickness is hard to beat. The poison seeps into your mind and body
