It’s apparent that we are in the presence of what some call a master craftsman. In the sense of doing all the right steps with no shortcuts, I would agree. Greatresults from this kind of effort.

It's unbelievable, you sit at the PC and watch for an hour how a pair of shoes are repaired. One rightly asks oneself, don't you have a life of your own? Well it's so relaxing to see a good man mastering his craft and speaking his comments so calmly and serenely. Meanwhile I see it as a kind of therapy to relax. Well done Steve

I understand about favorite shoes. I'm glad his shoes were or original high enough quality to warrant repair. Years ago I took a favorite pair of shoes to a shoe repairman and he refused to fix them, he told me they were cheap poorly made shoes and not worth repairing and why was I even consider it, I told him that they fit well and were worn in. The man told me good, quality women's casual shoes didn't need to be worn in and that I should buy better footwear to use what I would've spent on a repair and s bit more money to buy shoes good for my feet. He even gave me some nrand names to check out. I wasn't insulted, I appreciated his honesty and that he was looking out for me. I took boots to him for repair in later years. His shop closed when he was quite elderly and he passed away. It was a real loss for the community. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the community that misses him. He was a community fixture, an artist, a real master of his craft and quite a character.

Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but that's a next-level intro. Great job! In case anyone wondered if the cost of these repairs are "worth it", yes. The loafers are $765 and the Oxford saddle shoes are $660, at least from the place I could find selling them online. (There are cheaper versions of the loafers in calfskin and without lining; this price is for the Cordovan shell.)

Thank you! I knew someone would have looked up this information! I grew up in a middle class home and my mom didn't spend that much money or her shoes or mine, but my parents believed in wearing quality shoes. My dad wore boots and he spent that kind of money for his boots. So his boots were definitely worth that kind of repair. Thanks again for looking that up!

Steve, the people complaining about any music in videos are the types who can’t focus and block out unwanted noise! They are also the types who can’t multitask well! I personally am listening to you and watching Live rescue! Interesting case on live Rescue in this case a 20 year old female with a GSW and broken femur( OUCH). My focus goes to the tv! Once the case is over its back to the phone! I will say that I could use a few extra videos this month, Please! I’m recovering from surgery, it’s garden prep season and I’m on lifting restrictions all month so no garden prepping and as a result I’m slowly loosing my mind!

Alden makes very high quality shoes and boots. I would rather them save a few dollars for sing compressed fiber heel stacks than cutting costs in other areas of construction. It sucks when you get a bad resole job though. You always do too notch work. Fantastic solid reconstruction. Whoever resoled those Cordovan Alden’s before you did not do what was necessary to maintain the quality construction of Alden. They are my favorite shoe maker and I love how you give them love, but still call out where they could do better.

I agree. I too have a hearing impairment, although pretty slight, but in the spectrum of the human voice. That means that background music (or just any sound or noise) tends to disproportionately overpower speech.
