Aldi is the only place I can afford to shop in this economy anymore. Even walmart is getting too expensive. I remember in 2018 I was shopping at places like Wegmans all the time, which has great stuff but it's also more premium priced typically. I haven't shopped at Wegmans in at least 3 years. It's either Aldis, or I'm driving 45 minutes to the nearest Costco. Aldis is only 10 minute drive. Economy has to get better. It just has to. I think food prices in general have increased over 20% in just the past 3.5 years. I'm not gonna get political here but...come on, we're getting killed out here.

Receipts contain both bps and bpa, typically used for water resistance. They leech pfas from the paper/ink that end up in our groundwater, or you absorb through your skin. Oddly enough, verifiable and not some sort of pseudoscience. Limiting contact and proper disposal is recommended, but there is so much of this bs in our day to day lives, I'm not sure if it even matters.

Frozen Peas + Mincemeat : eaten most weeks and helps me keep budget. The cheaper mincmeat in uk is 15-20% fat anyway so I dry out wafer thin onions in my pan with no cooking oil before the mince. Once the mince is browned down i throw my garlic, ginger, tomatoes in and whatever spices you wanna use. Punchpooran always goes in for me (indian fivespice). I like to turn the heat up and dry it out to mature the flavours, corriander at the end. That with rice every week will help you hit a lot of good nutrients and help you feel full too.
