Right! You'll never see Bobby in the fruit and veggie section because he doesn't get paid!

I think he picks out the package processed food because that's what most people gravitate towards because it's quick and they're buying for families and you get more in quantity. The key to buying package food is that you want to get stuff that's minimally processed. All of it's going to have chemicals, but if you can find the one with the less chemicals, it's a win situation. You'll be just fine. Whole foods are fine but they can get pricey if you're buying for a family and it can also be less convenient

@lars28947 ай бұрын
Yup, directly buying Avocado Oil from tested and verified brands is fine. Packaged food products? That's a whole different game. Manufacturers almost ALWAYS use the bottom grade stuff, regardless of what they may write on the label or the high price tag following the item. The same goes for other _premium sounding_ ingredients like "Honey", which is 9/10 times the untraceable imported variety. Of course you can make an exception for certain brands you would wholeheartedly trust but that is a rare luxury these days. Source: worked in food manufacturing for over a decade

@@lyinbobbycottonseed I suppose I should just quit watching him, at this point. Ridiculing people over and over isn't very nice and probably not good for my health, either (like, elevated cortisol). I had gone through this with Berg, as well. I had liked Abbey's video about him. She does concentrate on what people are good at, and doesn't make many direct personal attacks (except for Berg). Added sugar *IS* a problem in many ultraprocessed foods, and I myself, look at the labels, like Bobby does. But, he takes it to such an extreme that it is looking like an eating disorder. Abbey often points out that you can have junk food a few times a week, without being worried, and that it's the long term, habitual pattern that matters. I do, as part of other, larger meals, and with plenty of water. The videos in which Bobby labels every imaginable additive as a toxin, are getting tiresome. I'm a chemical engineer, and many of the things talked about wuch as EDTA, are "GRAS" (at least at the doses we would commonly find), so any commentary added, is opinion. I had even done titrations with EDTA, at one point. The federal guideline for refined sugars is 36 grams a day; that works for most people. Having even slightly more that than, isn't likely to make most health people fat, or diabetic, if they have water and fiber with it. I'm a prediabetic, and it isn't from "eating too many refined sugars": that's a common oversimplification. It's a complex, multifactorial health condition. Some of the ideas presented here are just plain wrong, the statement that seed oils are "toxic" and "inflammatory", and that we should be eating butter instead, just because "it's processed less" and "not with hexane or heat". The idea seems to be, the more steps there are in processing something, the more nutrients are lost and the more the oil get oxidized. Manufacturers have labs to test the food before, during and after manufacturing. At one point I was working for Kellogg (that was my student job). "Natural", "non-GMO", "organic", "grass fed", "pasture raised", and "wild caught" do not equal a healthier food by default and the marketing people are allowed to say whatever they want to sell a product in the US.
