I always cook them for about 10 mins longer than the instructions to crisp them on the edges. and after I put the sauce on I sprinkle them with brown sugar and put them under the grill until the sugar caramelises and starts to crisp up. Lovely crunchy, sweet, smoky ribs!

Gareth, although the Aldi ribs were 46p cheaper than the Asda ribs, they took 15minutes extra cooking time, which I don't how much money that would equate to, but with energy costs increasing, I think it is worth taking into account as well as the convenience of Asda only taking 2 thirds of the time it takes the Aldi ribs to cook for.

Afternoon rib master....you have to bear in mind that these are your baby back type of ribs that are as you can see are shorter in length ...but this variant are sold as "ribs" in many places..but if you get Chinese ribs from a typical takeaway they're more like spare ribs...but they're pricier....now I wholeheartedly am in your corner of looking for bargains getting more punch for your pennies and pounds ( I trademark that phrase) lol.....but if you get a chance do a comparison between the fresh butcher counters of supermarkets and their comparative spare ribs...par boil them cover in spices (Chinese 5 spice or a bbq rub or sauce) then oven roast or from fresh just marinade in spices and then fully just oven roast coating in sauce afterwards...you'll be in for a treat. Anyways good "infotainment" 👍 as usual

ENERGY SAVING TIP: Don't preheat your oven! When the oven is up to temperature, you'll lose heat when you open the door to put the food in! ...... What I do is put the food in from cold, then time the cooking from when the oven is up to temperature. Also, my oven doesn't have a light inside, and I don't open the door during cooking, instead I shine a torch in to check cooking progress! ...... I avoid using the oven where possible, as they're real energy guzzlers! I reckon my energy Direct Debit is set to DOUBLE, due to soaring energy prices!
