Man you are the one of the few who actually shows real note-taking on OneNote on whole KZbin. Everybody is talking about Surface or Surface pen and blah blah but OneNote is what's most important on this device. So thank you for this. One think I'm missing on KZbin is to show tablet experience with Surface. No one has post this on KZbin yet

planning to get a microsoft surface pro for school! i love the 2-in-1 functionality of it. this has been super helpful. theres a ton of videos about goodnotes/notability for ios but not a ton with onenote (which is what i’m planning to use.) thanks a ton!

Thanks for the video. How is this different from using OneNote with any other Windows tablet and stylus? I'm asking because I use a ThinkPad Yoga 370 with an active digitizer and I want to be sure that the video also applies to me. Thanks again.

Surface pen has a few more customizations that OEM devices such as using the back as an eraser, clicking the back button etc and usually a better drawing/writing experience when you put pen to screen but feature wise it's all Windows & OneNote so there shouldn't be many feature differences

great videos!! thank you. Do you know how to disable the 'ink to text' pen? I see you don't have it in your pen area. It is really annoying. they added the 'ink to text' pen and it is locked in place next to the eraser. I never use this feature and do not want it as a default. I am hoping there is a way to remove it or at least slide it to the end of the list. Thanks

Is there a cover or screen protector that will give the Surface a more paper like feel? I love OneNote but keep abandoning it becasue I dislike writing on the slick surface. I don't really even care about a paper feel. Just something with a matte finish would work.

There probably is. I had the same issue on a Samsung Galaxy tablet and got a matte finish screen cover.

How can I set the writing distance of the pen? Even if I don't touch the screen and the pointer is activated, it starts writing and generates writing errors.

One quick question. I noticed you tried to give the page a name 'KZbin' but it wouldn't synch in your list on the right hand side of the page and the name stayed untitled page for most of the video. But then when you went to screen shot around the 11:50 mark OneNote changed the name of the page in your list to 'screen shot' and then later when you add the (1+2)/3 formula, it changed the name of that 'screen shot' page to the formula. Do you know what was happening there and why OneNote never accepted the 'KZbin' title you gave the page?

To get this version of OneNote, you have to pay. AND if you're using a Samsung tablet or an Ipad, you won't get this version. Many think it will be missing. It's easier to say what things you can use. So you can use: the pencil tool with eraser, but only with colors which are given. You've got the Laso thing and you can have a few shapes. No ruler, no handwriting to the text. It's not worth the money for non-windows devices.

A quarter of the screen height is taken up by unnecessary menus/text/header bar, can these be turned off so that you only have the icons and pens... such a waste of space up top. Also, can the tabs be at the side? The default UI doesn't look very optimal.

I will never understand what on earth made Microsoft put the eraser on the back of the pen instead of just keeping the eraser button. So inconvenient.

It was to make it feel/give an illusion of a real pencil. Studies show that pen and paper ( even if it is just an illusion ) helps retain information and make a better purpose out of what your doing. I suppose apple didn’t think of that and rather thought of just the base idea for convinence. However I appreciate Microsoft for sticking with science.
