i don't know why but this song reminded me of my father. My dad was a drug addict, a gambler and an alcoholic. My family, my mom and my childhood and teenhood was hell because of him. After he divorced with my mother, he re married and we went separate way. I still meet with my father but maybe once a month but then its just for a few hours. Although I am the eldest of 3 siblings, I was pretty spoilt. But when my dad left, I " put my youth in my casket ". I become more mature and strong. I love my dad, to me he is my hero, but sometimes I felt that he was already gone from my life. Death of a Hero...
@kylieburch54666 жыл бұрын
Idzuan Idris tHaT was kind of like me, but my moms bipolar and she used to hit me when I was little and my mother and father got divorced when I was 1 year old and they never got remarried. She came back and left over and over again for 10 years But they got divorced for good this time 3 years ago and my dad couldn’t be happier because he now has me, my step mom, and my two step sisters. I am happy for him and I got my dream of having sisters, but I can’t help but feel forgotten my mother is always with her boyfriend and I feel like my dad is forgetting me. Since they got divorced 3 years ago I have been depressed and nobody will help me and I have done some pretty despicable things to myself but no one cares so why should I.

It really spoke to me, I feel like I lost a lot of role models this year, people I looked up and/or trusted who’s veil I finally saw through as I grew up and matured and it caused a lot of pain. This song offered me a lot of realization and closure in a time when I was still lost and hurt by everyone I used to idolize.

This is some of the most amazing music I've ever heard. The music is gorgeous and the story is emotional and powerful. I can't believe someone could make something this beautiful, this is truly touching. The "Death of a Hero", representing the realization that not everyone you look up to is as benevolent as they seem is so sad but true. Putting your "youth in a casket" is one of the saddest things about growing up. Not only physical youth but the innocence of being a child and the magic you live in as a child dying is truly tragic. 20/20, my new favorite song.

I think what this song meant was that//: Alec had seen something or a secret that the person he respects so much, do something bad that he looses respect for him. To this, it lead him hate or some other negative feelings // like frustration, whatnot // and to the point that he burnt this person he respects so much's pictures and everything related to this person. He kept all he believed while he was in his youth that this person had done in casket, as if he's saying that this is all a lie. And the death may not actually he a death, it's probably the respect or trust or something. And the lone that he says he doesn't realized, he probably refuse to do so, cuz he doesn't want to see/recognize the person he once respect so much
@ririsan18226 жыл бұрын
+[AGP] Peakjas well, the meaning of the song can be understood in many ways, like art and poetry, but I understood it not cuz I'm good at English, I suck at it, tbh. But I think it's all in how your emotions sees it, I guess, or just personal experiences translated into a song/art/poetry(etc)

For me, this song talks about Jon Bellion. Alec said in a recent interview it was about someone who he really looked up too and who dissapointed him, he was one of his favourite artists, but he's scared to say who. I say that it's about Jon Bellion because Alec co-wroted a song with him (New york soul pt. II), and he even sings on the chorus on the song, but didn't get credit for it. At least that's what I think.

It sounds like he's talking about a father, Superman was what he thought a father should be like "Superman" started doing drugs and strayed away from everything good. He's afraid of the death of the father and that one day he'll have to bury him, he saw through everything good and saw what was going on and realized what the father has become. :(

To my Hero, and love, Joshua Dickey. May you rest in peace 12/12/2020. This song give me chills, as Alec Benjamin was one of our favorite artists to fire dance to. It has been weeks, and I still cry uncontrollably to this song.

Unironically this song described my father. He was always described by our family as our superman, we didnt know until I was about 10, but he had a terrible drug addiction. This ruined my teenage and childhood for 16 years and the things I saw were horrifying due to the drugs he did. My father went from superman to a stranger, and only died of a drug overdose last year. He loved superman before he got onto drugs. Had a shirt, had a superman ring, he was literally my superman. Unforunately he died last year and now we are engraving a superman symbol on his grave. This whole song describes the feelings ive had until this point...

My dad died of cancer 1 year ago today... and I was just browsing through youtube because.. I am sad.. and I stumbled upon this song... and it just reminds me of my dad.. he was, in a way, a hero. He wasn't a firefighter or a policeman or superman, in fact, he was not even employed and on top of that he and my mom never got along. My mom is very head strong, stubborn and she can get very hard to tolerate but I love her anyway. Even though my mom did not want my dad to live in our house with us in Oregon and had him move to North Carolina, he always sent us letters and we would send him letters back as much as possible. We never called much but I wish we had because now I would do ANYTHING to hear his voice again, but I never will. Anyway long long long story short. This song reminds me of my dad. who was my hero. He was always there for me and my little sister and I jut wish I could have been there more for him.

Hey man. I love this song, and love your music. The other night I discovered something about my dad that has made me feel like I’ve witnessed the death of a hero. This song is helping me, and I thank you for that. I don’t know if you read these but I thought I’d say I’m thankful for your music. Thanks bro.
