I think the point is that even though he feels like God might not hear him, he never stops praying to him. And even though he might not understand the Bible, he still believes in it. He keeps his faith that there's something else higher even when he feels alone and has given up. That's what I picked up anyways.

Nova invited him to LA, she was already rapping. Got picked up by Deff Jams. Nova does all his videos. Shes a video producer. Its the struggle, He's not saying that he not listening, it FEELS like he wasn't listening in your head. Its the battle between your demons and doing the right thing. You feel like no ones listening, but keep the faith.

Tom and Brandon are speaking about when you are new to sobriety it feels lonely because the urge is so strong. If you're not in a personal relationship with God it's hard to get to that point where you're completely delivered in his word. It's easy for some of us who have always had a relationship with God to not understand someone who is questioning their faith and desperately seeking HOPE. We just need to continue to pray for him. He is growing in his spiritual journey.

When your in the throws of addiction you feel like Gods not listening when you're screaming for help. At the end of the song he said all he needs is Church. 36 years sober still a struggle and this could have been an anthem back in the 80s. People think they will get a demonstrable miracle from a desperate prayer, and when they don't they despair. My flesh and spirit are at war within my soul, waging battles for years has long taken it's toll, I've seen victories and I've taken blows, wins and losses have both come and go, I've taken thoughts captive that the enemy, like spys have tried to plant and sow, and at other times I have been weary and mistakenly let some pass through, but there is one thing I do know, that all my foes will one day be purged, for I seen the enemy try his best to kill my king, but yet from the grave He still emerged, the fights may be long, but my King faithful and victory sure, He protects me and gave me armor that's secure, though the enemy rage and he roar, hope in my King gives me strength to endure, until the war is over and I return to my homeland where He has prepared a place for me to live forever more. -The Artist J

Anyone who claims to be a social drinker knows that alcohol makes people stupid. Think about all those nights you've put on a 'good drunk', and how you felt when you woke up in the morning. Now ask yourselves how many times did you remember something that happened the night before, and you're first thought was "I can't believe I did, or said, that. That was stupid. I must have been really drunk.' The point has we've all said that to ourselves at once in our lives.

I think what he’s saying is. People expect once you kick your addiction you think all your problems will go away. Life doesn’t get easier just cause you get sober and it can feel worse. Cause you don’t have that addiction to fall back on to drown out your troubles. God is always listening, even though sometimes we feel like he’s not. we expect it to be a quick fix and to take all are trails and tribulations alway. But life goes on and that belief in that higher power can pull you out of your darkest times you just have to have faith
