I went to school all my years in the western US and it's damn near the same until I got to hs and got a based history teacher that actually taught good stuff, but it was American history. World history and stuff where I could have learned about it (but didn't) was taught through a computer program that was specifically meant to be used in as many states as possible, so it essentially had an agenda that was safe for southern states but dancing on the line to not be too conservative so there wouldn't be any trouble in the other ones

From the look of your comment it looks like you're just about to start college (I could be reading it wrong idk) so I just wanted to say that in most cases what major you're in or want to be in def won't matter in the first year and could matter more in the second. While you could probably take more specified classes that could help get credits with a major you choose later (example: say a kid wants to code, and they take coding 101, they filled a math or science requirement and they filled a requirement for a coding degree) your first two years are to fill general education requirements (math, English, science, history art and whatever else is required for your specific college). It's actually a good way to try new things out and get used to living at a college so you're more ready for whatever you choose your major to be after those two years.
