На 0:30 Александр прыгнул 3А! Скорость у него просто нереальная!😯 Прыжки очень высокие. Жаль, что ему на ОИ не везло, ведь он был талантливый и артистичный фигурист.👍

He's done way better in past performances, but it's interesting how the commentators didn't seem to be on his side. "Not known to be a powerful free skater", what!!!!!!! He's landed quads in practice and he was world champion one year. And who cares if he is skating the roll of a peasant. Skaters play rolls just like actors and dancers. This music really fit his style and it was unique. He probably could have got bronze if he would have landed all his jumps.

Agree!! Condescension is classless. Just because folk music of a particular culture is used, referring to the costuming as "peasant" is stupid. There were many times when I'd like to have popped that self-important schnook, Dick Button, across the head. Russian cultural costuming (and others) involves many hand-sewn intricacies and is time-consuming and not cheap to create.

those were comments by Orser, not Button,

He wasnt a powerful free skater because he always ran out of gas except for 1985 when he lucked out and didnt fall, every other time he fell or screwed up. He had a lot of mistakes here, and Petrenko was flawless, no contest for bronze, and he was lucky to even be third after the SP
Это дурацкое падение с Акселя при выезде прыжка. За золото мог спокойно бороться.

Brilliant skater. I feel sorry for him. I wander, if he would have beaten both Brians, had he had Boitano's primitive choreography. People talk about lack of stamina, but who could do such difficult and intensive programs? If only Kurt Browning. Unfortunally, that wasn't rewarded at that time.

He was good but he didn’t have the technical skills or the great choreography that Boitano had. Like Jim McKay said here, he was struggling with injuries. He was not known as a good free skater only figures.

Orser is the least indicated to make a comment on Fadevev attire's. After all, Orser performed the prior year to Concierto de Aranjuez in an astronaut suit!!! Check it out yourself!!! Also see what he wore in '85 and '86!!!

Orser looked horrible in every costume he wore, check him out in the 87 worlds exhibitions, he looks utterly ridiculous

Вот где мощь СССР!!!Российский фигурист танцует под украинскую песню-Гоп, кума ,не журися,и вся программа под украинские мелодии,и зал как реагирует.

His artistry is far beyond most of the men I’ve watched in this competition, this includes Brian Boitano who I thought was great technical wise but had such stiff arms.

wrong, he looked like a midget on ice and always had poor music choices except his 1986 short program

He was a very good skater but this program was simply overloaded - too many moves, too many sounds, high speed all the time. And too many mistakes either. Comparing to Boitano's artistry... nice done only.

DICK Button as a commentator, reflected his name. He rambles and thinks he's insightful but is full of cultural stereotypes and snarky remarks. I always thought Jim McKay was overrated as a commentator. He has one or two talking points and spews them out arbitrarily, but then has no notion of the sport. Frankly, his coverage of Munich 1972 was also underwhelming.
