Damn, that’s it right here. I had my school project on hold for 2 days because I was doing parent constraint, using strength, and object would fly away. You helped me a lot man, thanks!
@ace54 жыл бұрын
yup, parent constraint is a bit unstable

Smart use of the PSR tag! Thanks for a very clear tutorial.

Thanks for making this tutorial. This is the type of tutorial that's seems to be hard to find on youtube. Most of them seem to focus on basic walk cycles or movements.

The weights/nulls trick is dope! I was trying this with Parent previously.

+tooandflow ye.. parent thing is super broke..
@tooandflow9 жыл бұрын
+Aleksey Voznesenski i assumed i was just being a fool. but parent seems to cause the object to jump when scrubbing. i have found that trying to turn the result into a motion clip kills the constraint tag. i had to looped the keys instead

Hey awesome and super helpful thanks! My goal is to have a character stumbling around while holding his head. With this technique I've gotten the hands to follow the head but they seem to still "slide" around the head. Is there a way to lock them in more tightly? or is there a better technique for this?

So very cool :D Can this method somehow be used in this example: 1 Gun the character picks up the gun and then grabs it with both Hands, after that he starts running and swinging his arms, I would like the gun to stay with both hands so I do not have to keyframe the other hand to follow the gun....... I hope I explained this good enough...... :D
@ace59 жыл бұрын
sure, just psr constrain the other hand to the gun or the first hand. same method as i explained here.

Really cool but when the object it's animated I have problem between targets weights. A basketball player for example that changed the ball between his hand and the ball it's bouncing. what is the right way to do it?
@ace57 жыл бұрын
you have an animated null for the ball bouncing, and you have nulls on the hands. Then you can contrain between them. You can actually use a sphere the same size as the ball instead of the bouncing null, so its easier to animate.

Thank u very much Aleksey I'll try this next time, I used a plugin named Easy parent and works fine to me! nitro4d.com/product/easy-parent-2/

im glad you found a solution, just be careful with plugins and rederfarms.

Very good video, nice and helpful, however something frustrating keeps happening to my object. It keeps randomly repositioning, so I have to close the file and re-open it and it sometimes goes back to the original position.
@ace58 жыл бұрын
+GreekFireWarrior maybe you have a stray keyframe on the object?
@GreekFireWarrior8 жыл бұрын
+Aleksey Voznesenski No. I have read all over the internet that everyone who has used PSR/parent constraints, when they scrub through the timeline it skips frames or something so the object is repositioned. It has something to do with Maxons C4D. I just have to slow scrub the timeline to check it, then animate. Thanks :)
@ace58 жыл бұрын
ah i know what it is. you have to have the object that you're carrying below the object that is holding it in the object manager. because c4d reads what is happening from top to bottom. so if you hand is below the ball, cinema 4d will look where the ball is first, and THEN look where the hand is, but its too late for the ball now, so it only updates it next frame.
@GreekFireWarrior8 жыл бұрын
+Aleksey Voznesenski wait so hang on? You mean place the object layer under the wrist control? So it looks like this 'R_FK_Wrist_con+>handpos>helmet (which is the object). But that means the object is parented to the wrist and is now following the hand before its picked up? Sorry I dont want to have this video full of my complications so can private message me if its better or any1 has this problem they can see it here? Whatever is your decision
@ace58 жыл бұрын
its ok, maybe this will be helpful to someone else. :) Not not parented. Just below in the object manager. Doesn't matter where it is. Because c4d reads it like a book down the page. and then checks where the object currently is. I need to make a video about this :D
