The trimpots are for level setting of the pickups and hum cancelling dummy coil. Interesting to get a good look at the insides of the bass. Thanks for the video! I had a Turner Electroline 5 string fretless, fantastic instrument, very good sounding piezo pickup. Oh, and I think you are right, this is a pretty early one, complete instrument anyway, they started with adding electronics to hollowbody basses. Don't think they adopted the series 1 and 2 as well as signature nomenclature at that time yet.

Yes. Phil Lesh's modified Guild Starfire "Big Brown". I had a turner in the shop a couple years ago. A "Renaissance" I believe.

What an incredible combination of musical instrument and work of art! I passed up on the chance to buy a black Alembic Spoiler about ten or twelve years ago, just before the prices started to climb exponentially. Still kicking myself for that decision.

I have a few of those regrets too. Back in the 80's you could get a Les Paul for a few hundred bucks. If I only knew.....

John Entwistle loved them ,....until Live Aid 1985 30 seconds in electricals totally cut out,too be fair it was probably stereo xlr plug type circuit,but beautiful instruments

And as every year that passes Alembic decides to add another zero to the end of the price of the basses and guitars that they build !! By the time the founders are dead an Alembic will cost billions of dollars !

I do wish you’d spoken more about the instrument and spent less time putting screws in - you pointed out some trim pots, what’re they for? The noise reducing dummy coil between the pickups? Shame.
