I really like the custom parts tray you have. You can safely store parts and then each lunch after it has been reassembled! 😁

Nice work and really nice guitar ,I put a old Japanese guitar on layaway when I was 13 in1976 ,I was a paperboy and thats how I bought it ,still have it I ended up a few years ago replacing the slide switches and wiring them properly ,I also put a ABR bridge on it because the bridge that was original never intonated ,I think its a Tiesco with a zero fret but dont think it ever played this well ,it has odd sized P90 type pickups on it sounds great

Retro coolness! Many are terrible but this one had a great neck! It responded well to a little love!

I love how you can tell it’s going to be a great player when it doesn’t even have strings on it nice to see so much care put into a guitar like that

It's all about the neck. It's where the rubber hits the road.

found one with similar features no trem less switches though Just feels like it will be great after a fret job and a couple tweaks

The pickups are a bit wimpy. I'd love to rewind them HOT!

Nice work as usual. R is "rhythm", and I believe S is "solo". I have seen a few of these old Japanese guitars, and IIRC, the pickups will be wired in series, (but won't hum cancel), and the switches simply short the coils to switch them off. The R/S switch will have a cap wired in series when set to R, and shorted in S position. IOW, the R is basically a passive bass cut.

@@dougmaccormack9485 the rhythm setting is pretty useless IMO. I've got a diagram to have that s/r switch rewired as series parallel. Although that is for master vol and tone. Not sure how you'd do it with VTVT... I love these quirky old "pre lawsuit" (I made that up) Japanese models. They can be a challenge to fettle tho.
