I have a H1B receipt and planning to book visa appointment with that details in the DS-160. However, before I go to the appointment, if my H1B extension is approved, I'll get a new H1B receipt number. Can I update this into a new DS-160 form and take it to the same appointment without having to cancel/rebook the appointment. Of course I can carry both DS-160 forms . One with old H1B receipt details and new DS-160 form with new H1B extension date details. Is this allowed?

If appointment booked before 15 nov23 , then no issue at all. If booked after 15 Nov23 , then , u can change ds160 , with minor changes a in few fields. But basic data like name dob passport no. etc can't change. This was introduced by usa to stop agents from booking dummy slots , then selling to customers at premium and changing ds160 later on

Hello Sir, I have booked an appointment for my in-laws in September 2022 and got confirmed appointment in Septemeber 2024 as there was no other dates available earlier. No information needs to be updated in their DS-160. In this scenario also do they need to fill DS-160 and link again those new ds160? Apart from that, i have one more issue, Portal is not showing me to reschedule the appointment, as I can see some slots are available in the coming weeks. Did i lose the fees ? Do I have to again pay the fees and do the whole process again to and schedule fresh appointment? Fees is valid for 1year only ..mostly your fees might be expired ..u can use the same appointment if u don’t want to pay fees …if u want to book early date again u need to pay fees and book appointment again .

Fill the new d160 and use new d160 in scehduling the apointment date but carry old d160 confirmation on the day of interview. Hi Sir . I applied for b1/b2 visa and did payment on 4 june 2023 and scheduled the appointment for 1 may 2024. Ever since the new portal has come I am unable to download mrv fee receipt it says continue application and is stuck on the loop of document delivery. I attended the VAC appointment on 17 april 2024 and everything went smoothly. Is mrv fee receipt necessary in consular interview provided I have all the valid document such as ds160 and all the documents supporting my visit. Once visa fees you pay on the portal will allow you to book appointment 3 times. So if you already booked your appointment and if it is cancellable or the old ds 160 is expired you need to cancel and start new application and fill in new ds 160 with new fall intake details and i20 number too and the same ds 160 number should be in visa appointment confirmation.

While trying to schedule an appointment, i get RCE12 error. Created many support tickets. Support gives standard non-workable solution. Tried clearing the cache, used different browser, tried different machine, updated java version etc etc. Nothing is working. Now support says to close and start a new application. We cannot know when dates are available ..once u pay fees u will be able to see and get early dates U can submit ds 160 and attend interview at any location ..there will be no problem .

Since I had scheduled an appointment on 18th Nov for 22nd Dec 2023 and have old DS160 tagged to my application, I have cancelled my appointment and need to update my new DS160 to my application. I got the reply from support however I am not sure if that will work. They asked me to follow the old process only. To take the latest DS 160 as mine is a B1/B2 visa application. I shouldn’t have cancelled my appointment as it says “All F, M, and J student visa applicants must use their own passport information when creating a profile and scheduling “ so it is only for the above mentioned types and not for B1/B2

Closed and opened application not able to claim receipt after following the instructions send by customer support…. How can I claim the receipt…. It shows partially paid and when I enter reference number it shows receipt not found and if I click payment method it’s asking to pay the full fee again. Can you help on this.

If i already paid the fees for visa appointment and have booked appointment for next year( just to have the slot later i will reschedule it) and started a new ds 160 on the same day, then also there is no problem but you have to submit that ds 160 before 30 days from the date of creation, will that be any problem?

No it will not be any issue You can create a new ds form and carry both old and new ds confirmation at the time of appointment

This new rule is related to India ..in Qatar u need to check the information as per Qatar rules …I think u can fill new ds 160 and carry new ds 160 confirmation to the interview

In the appointment confirmation page it says that If you book an appointment on or after 15th November with an improperly filled DS-160, you will not be allowed to attend the VAC appointment or submit your application documents and need to reschedule the appointment.

@@swetasharma138 submit ds-160 before booking an appointment. If you need to correct anything before the interview, just fill a new ds-160 and carry both (old &new). If you submit after booking an appointment, people are facing issues, so it’s better to do it this way.

U have to update ur new ds 160 application id first and then book appointment again ..as u booked appointment after 15th Nov 2023…try to retrieve ur old ds 160 ..if not u have update new ds 160 in portal and rebook appointment
