Wow, it's actually more complicated than I expected; I'm glad you posted this. I feel more confident having watched you do it.

I watched a couple of these before diving in and all said to do the unsoldering bit, which worked fine, but for my second and third toms, I skipped that. I just opened the top, scraped the piezo off the metal bit and threw that bit away, then glued the piezo onto the top layer of foam, put the mesh head on and was done. Took about three minutes, no soldering, and sounds/feels exactly like the other one I did.

Hi Rob, thanks for the video mate. I just got the DM10 and was extremely disappointed with its "feel & playability" Tried the snare upgrade last night and what a difference! Toms & kick next! Cheers fella (nice to see a fellow Sheff lad posting!)

I've enjoyed watching all of your videos very much. I saw in one of them you had your bass drum pad mounted to your rack. Please do a video on how you did that with out getting cross talk.Thanks, keep the videos coming.

Hey, excellent video. I'm just waiting on the first of my mesh heads to arrive, although I've modified one tom and have just fitted the mylar head back on for now. I find that it is noisier, but I'm sure when I fit he mesh head, all will be good, well quieter!

Glad to be of help, it's just having the confidence of doing one then the rest will fall into place. Any problem just shout up.

Yes dude the piezo transducer crystal needs to vibrate when hit. If there was no hole in the white foam it would compress it and not allow it to move freely. I use double pedals and it works great with a hole in.

@ Dave Burns glad to be of help pal. The whole conversion is a massive difference. Mine is currently sat in a cupboard because my music room has turned into a nursery. Have you tried ez drummer yet?

Could you do the vid on your snare conversion? I think it looks different inside than the Kick drum. That would be awesome.

thanks for the vid, man. i did the same conversion as you. did you have any issues with the bass mesh, like it being too bouncy?

To reduce the sound I just put the white foam over the metal plate

I would like to know more about the 12 in snare, it only has the one black foam underneath, what did yo use to separator the plate from the base plate?

Would you cut a larger hole in the white foam if you use double pedals?

How much have you spent on alesis dm10? Isnt it just easier to save all that money and get a better drum set?
@25rglynn12 жыл бұрын
Vdrums arguably in same class td15-kv £1999. My kit £500, 5 heads £40. My time cost nothing. I know which I prefer. So to answer the question No.

Which conversion set did you use? I am buying alesis dm 10 and want to convert but am confused as to which "conversion" kit to buy!! theres 7 different ones! www.682drums.com/Alesis-Conversion-Set-c-260.html Svara

I didn't buy a conversion kit. I just bought the zed mesh heads. Follow my instruction and you won't need a conversion kit.
