Product update. I had mine for 47 days before it quit working. Fantastic product. It is for the features it has. The best multipad out there. I exchanged mine for the Yamaha multi 12. And am very happy. The Alesis reliability issues kept me from getting another one. I will wait a few years for them to work out the bugs before I consider another one. Hope yours is still working

M G what exactly were the problems you had with it?
@MRG_885 жыл бұрын
Ben Pursehouse The sound cut in and out on my headphones and then it just cut out permanently. I tried connecting to the 1/4 output to a monitor and it also wouldn’t work. So like I said earlier in my comments months ago I went with the Yamaha dtx multi 12. The Alesis is the best out there for what it does but for reliability which Alesis has always had issues and I experienced it which confirms all the complaints and went with older but reliable Yamaha which is still a beast.

I used to really dislike Alesis products. I don't need another multipad, and I still prefer my Nord Drum 3p, although it's in a different niche, with different features. That said, I gotta hand it to Alesis, this Multi Pad screams quality and looks like a solid alternative to the latest SPDSX. They've really improved since the Strike Pro. Good stuff.

Great review man! That's a pretty sweet piece of tech! I have the SPD-SX but have always been bummed that I can't use it for live loops - it has no way to cut loops to a perfect loop length unless you cut them in your DAW and export! This seems like a good middle ground between the spd-30 and the SX - I might have to check it out... Cheers for the info!

Thanks for the video, very clear! So i guess one could sample an entire backing track for a song and assign to one of the pads...and then just trigger the pad and jam on top? Also when looping... could I assign different length loops to different pads? So for example, if I do a 1 bare drum loop and have it on pad 1, could I then do a 4 bare loop (for example a 4 bare guitar chord sequence) and have it on pad 2? Thanks again! :)

I’ve been interested in this piece of gear for quite some time now. I was just about to order an Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad but I need a very important question answered first. I know the Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad is capable of so much more, but I plan to use it only as a drum kit. I’m now in a situation where there is a physcial space and volume limitation. There’s not enough space for an electronic drum kit. It would be great to just walk in with this pad, a stand, and a foot and hi hat controller. QUESTION: When the Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad is used as/like a drum kit, is the hi hat able to be played/controlled closed, half open and sloshy? Or is it just closed or fully open? Thank you!

Question for you?? Have you had any issues with the Alesis Strike Pad after filling up the hard drive with your own samples? I have spent hours loading samples 10 at a time, then hours programming kits, only to find out that once its a bit over 20 gig on the hard drive I lost access to any internal sound factory or user. Can't access the library! So if I try and change a sample it will disappear and I will have no sound on that pad, very frustrating. Have you ever heard of this?? One guy at Alesis recreated the same issue but now no one in the company will talk to me and blame my samples. Everyone of those files plays 100% in Logic, Live & Pro Tools. Oh by the way Alesis was nice to start and have replaced the strike pad several times but won't admit fault with there hardware or software. I have recreated the exact same issue with all software versions 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3??? I would only recommend the Alesis Strike MultiPad to drummers who don't want to add that many samples to the device, they rate it 30 gig + the operating system LOL Once its about 20-22 gig on drive adding a sample is like rolling the dice, it may not function the same after loading samples. Other than that and the top bumper being a harder hit required than the regular pads it has promise if the fix their admitted hard drive access issue!!

If you wanted to start/stop individual elements within a loop you'd need to separate them out onto different pads.
