Great to see ya back JD, and with Josh! The harmonies in their version here are amazing. Originally James meant ES as a lullaby for his kids BUT being a heavy metal band it turned out hard... this version is more of a haunting lullaby. I love how Pau says the prayer in this, but in concert Dany says it. I have to say I like this version more than the original because its been covered by everyone and on the radio for 30 years so this was a breath of fresh air. The end they showed.. yes we COULD have covered it note for note, but we made it our own! welcome back and looking forward to you catching up JD good day buds cioa for now

Listen to the outro of the original version, then listen to the intro of this version. They picked the song up where Metallica left off brought it around and handed it back in full form. Genius.

Good to see you again. And it took them a week to write this new version. They had to get it done quickly in time for the album deadline. Written during Covid so Alessia was in Canada and The Warning was in Mexico.

TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies... it is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Not only tore Enter Sandman apart but rebuilt it and had the finished product to Metallica in 10 days. Re-written, recorded & mixed during the travel restrictions with Alessia in Canada and The Warning in Mexico. Matt Squire did the magic over the web to put it all together while David Bendeth did the final mixing since it was right after the ladies finished their ERROR album with David in New Jersey. They use just a little of Alessia doing the oh-oh parts on a backing track during their live performances.

I saw there is a BTS video out and about showing some of the recording process. I believe Pau said that all told, they had ten days from when they were first approached about the project by the management company they share with Alessia Cara. But the arrangement, recording, mixing, and uploading it for inclusion on the Metallica collection was accomplished in just one week. Regardless, it was an amazing feat.

A bit different than the cover they did when they were little girls, eh? I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troops, Pau shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one. How much effort does it take to do this? The Warning were in Mexico. Alessia was in Canada. The wrote, recorded, and produced this in less than 10 days to meet the Metallica deadline. Amazing.
