This was a great version of an iconic song. The Warning is really hitting their stride right now. So many great songs. My favorite is Crimson Queen and "23". " Money" just makes me happy, and Evolve is also special. Love your reactions.

This was a joint effort of Alessia Cara (Canadian POP and R&B singer). The Warning, for Metallica's 30th Aniversary Black List Album. All genres artists were ask to take a black album song and do what ever to make it their own. Alessia and TW have the same publishing agency. They rewrote, composed, sang and delivered this song to Metallica in a week. TW and Alessia never physically met. Alessia was in Canada and TW in Mexico. Alessia Cara was invited to contribute to Metallica's 30 year anniversary of the Black album charity project along with 50 some other artists.. Most artists did relatively straightforward traditional covers of the various songs. Alessia didn't really know what to do and someone suggested she collaborate with The Warning. With only one week to the submission deadline and being in different countries unable to meet in person due to covid, they managed to rearrange, record and mix the song into the creepy lullaby you see here.

As an lifelong artist, a painter, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Great art is built on those shoulders and this Alessia Cara and The Warning collaboration is an incredibly artistic statement sprouted out of their own creativity on top of Metallica’s previous work. This recording and video is the highest level of fine art. Somebody in the Metallica organization had the idea to ask Alessia Cara, a trained singer known for performing in the soul and pop genres to cover Enter Sandman, which is an inspiration that I would like to know much more about. If I had the chance to meet and talk to one person involved in this production, it wouldn’t be the artists, it would be the person who had that inspiration and, if they weren’t available it would be Alessia or the person on her team that had the inspiration to ask The Warning to be involved.

I saw The Warning twice live in 2022. They are fantastic live! Try Dust to Dust live (from the QOTMS album) where Paulina (the drummer) sings lead vocals and drums. Another great live performance is "Revenant" live with a guest guitarist accompanying them.

Loved to see you so happy with this!! I've seen the video dozens of times and I still get goosebumps and hairs standing on end. The sheer creativity - reversing the chord structure, incorporating Alessia's style & voice, the tempo changes, and the grand finale -- all while using the Hetfield's original idea of a creepy lullaby -- and done in 1 week while collaborating remotely. I sure as hell would love to hear Metallica talk about their initial reaction when this played....

The Warning has confirmed their first three concert dates in Europe in June -- Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park in Germany -- and Download20 in UK. The have indicated they're planning to perform in Sweden, but no announcement yet.

Coincidentally, this is the first song on the Blacklist. Enter Sandman is the first song on the Black Album, and Alessia Cara's name is first alphabetically among those doing Enter Sandman (the rest of the album is in the same order). Still...saving the best for first. They were among the very few (and the only ones for Enter Sandman) who did something genuinely creative with it. It's brilliant. It's what I think of as Enter Sandman these days. Well, more or less ever since it was released.

Nice reaction! There's not a bad track on ERROR, in my opinion. My favorite, even after I don't know how many listens, is Evolve, the encore piece in many of their concerts during the Mayday Tour. The three live vids they've recently dropped from their concert at Teatro Metropólitan CDMX are also phenomenal.

This video and song are from the Metallica Blacklist Album, in 2021 Metallica celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Black Album by asking 53 Artists to do covers of the 12 songs on the Black Album, Alessia Cara lives in Canada and The Warning in Mexico and they couldn't get together to record the song and Video because of Covid so Alessia recorded her parts in Canada and The Warning in Mexico they did everything over the Computer and they recorded the song in just one week.

to answer your question - Welcome to the Rabbit Hole! The WARNING have made 4 albums in the past 6 years. Their 3rd Album - “MAYDAY” dropped July 2021. Their latest album “ERROR” released this month of July 2022 with 7 new songs, three of which are titled “REVENANT,” “BREATHE” and “AMOUR.” Per Metallica: The songs on the BLACKLIST ALBUM are not intended to be "covers", but a re-imagining of the songs as a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the Black album. To create their own rendition. Metallica approached Alessia Cara. She has the same management agency as The Warning and they suggested a collaboration. Metallica asked them TO NOT DO a straight cover. They shot the video in an abandoned textile mill outside Monterrey, Mexico. Already, an incredible reimagined classic! A rock masterpiece! THE WARNING collaborated with Alessia to come up with their own creative version of Enter Sandman, as Metallica asked them to do! Alessia Cara is a Canadian Grammy-winning POP/R&B singer/songwriter. with 4 Grammy’s and many Hit Songs. Thus, the first hit off of the ‘Blacklist Album’ to drop was ENTER SANDMAN. I’m really glad dear Petra that you find the Warning. Grace dropped her fans, including me and others, and is trying to be a movie star. Which I know that not gonna happen, because Hollywood is filled with pretty girls even prettier than her.And talent vise, sorry to say but her two movies are for children of your daughter age.But this is not about Grace.The Warning is an extraordinary bunch of talents as musicians. If I can give you an advise, look their early performances, when they were little children’s and played ACDC or Guns n Roses songs in front of their school mates in their school yard, called “Red Wings arena “ called Liceo where their ages were 10, 12, and 15 yrs old, and the works man ship, is out of this world! So, I did find the fitting band for my taste, but I had to drop Grace of my list!! The girl with the soft voice is Alesia Cara, a Canadien pop singer with a Grammy under her wings. But the Warning did the work in a week after they were told by Metallica, that they want a version of their iconic song and guess what? its the first version on the 50th anniversary Black album and to be honest, it’s the best version!

Your reaction to them was totally predictable, everyone who sees this version of Enter Sandman is the same, it’s the #1 track on the Metallica Blacklist album!
