Cho0segoose You can just LOOK at some of these people, and you can tell. Like, WHO thought Iggy would make it past 2015? I know I didn't. lol. This lil' girl is too trendy to last. Her voice is good, but it has an almost "Recycled" sound to it, that I've heard black women use (Jill Scott, Erykah Badu), and now a white (or Hispanic) girl is incorporating it into her songs, and it'll get tired to white people too, and WHOOSH...just like THAT...she's gone. If your favorite didn't win that is okay they will come back and make more music while staying true to themselves. Also, "She isn't talented," "She wont last long" and "She isn't an icon/legend" really? Are you God or can you see the future that y'all can tell what she i going to be like. I am not trying for this to sound wrong or seem like I am defending or biased towards Alessia Cara (I am a fan but still this is true to all, if Khalid won then i wouldn't be like he cheated or he isn't talented) I am just trying to open everyones eyes and let them be better people. just STOP BASHIN PPL DOWN

Marley Mescudi if one athlete wins a championship in their rookie year and the other wins their first championship after 15 years.... is the rookie still not new? she is a rookie with a smash 1st album. sza has ep going back 6 years but since she only put out her studio album on 2017 no one seems to see the hypocrisy in that. if alessia is not new then sza is not new either. agreed Khalid should have won. he has a bright future ahead.

Her album is three years old. She should have been nominated in 2016. SZA had multiple mixtape before but that is not an album. Most artist do have mixtapes released before studio albums. There is no hypocrisy. Every single other artist in that category released their first album in 2017.

@@danagrande1795 just because she has success doesnt mean she is “reinventing” an entire genre. & she definitely wont revive r&b if she keeps taking these breaks, damn near 6 years apart in between albums. she is great but no offense only a man can bring the genre to where it was. there always was a male r&b leader in the golden years. teddy, marvin, babyface, keith, tevin, boyz to men, jodeci, giniwine, usher etc. the female listeners who dominate the audience of r&b will always want a guy they can fantasize over. may sound sexist but thats how the industry works. giveon has a better chance to revive r&b considering his consistency & he makes more pure r&b while sza makes a lot of hip hop infused r&b.
@danagrande1795
@danagrande1795 Жыл бұрын
@@pharaohmajor she didn’t only succeed, she is also universally acclaimed and an inspiration to a lot of artists and reviving r&b has nothing to do with how long of a break you take heck she isn’t even planning on releasing an album ever again but that doesn’t mean she can’t kickstart a revival and allow for other artists especially female to ride the wave and have mainstream success, and for your last point that might’ve been true 20 years ago but time changed drastically nobody looks for male r&b music to fulfill a fantasy that’s so corny 😭 today’s music is all about relatability and I don’t think even male artists want to cater to that "fantasy" anymore

alessia i just wanted to say that I love you so much. I am so proud of you and I know that it might seem creepy and I'm crying right now because of how proud I am. I don't know you personally but I am so happy that you are living your dreams. You have inspired me so much and have taught me so many things. I also want to do music but I never thought that I could because I'm not from a big a city and I thought that I wouldn't get noticed. You have showed me that it doesn't matter where you are from. The only thing that matters is the passion you have. I also loved your speech about how everyone deserves a shoot. I really feel like award shows are most of the time rigged. I feel like society makes people feel like a person a is better than others when it comes to award shows. You said something that I have been wanting to say for years. Thank you so much for being a big role model in my life. I am so proud of you and so are a lot of people. We all love you. :)

Poor girl, she is getting so much hate for getting an award she deserves
@futureworldx1627
@futureworldx1627 6 жыл бұрын
Justin Beiber No hate, it's just this: When you want to know about making great noodles, you ask a Chinese guy. When you wanna know about how to charm a snake, you ask an Arab. When you wanna know about great MUSIC you ask a BLACK person!!! I don't know about the REST of us, but I am PERSONALLY TIRED of hearing from people who half the time, can't get their HANDS to meet for a decent CLAP, claim to be EXPERTS in music. LOL. Black people have created EVERY SINGLE MUSIC INDIGENOUS to The United States, and if you don't believe it, THINK about it, and EVERY music you can name, has it's roots in SOME form of BLACK music. So, when we watch these award shows, and we see the bullshit occur, like George Michael winning best R&B artist over Bobby Brown (who at the time was the MAN), and LUTHER VANDROSS (A man who G.M. couldn't hold his JOCK strap), we tend to get a bit perplexed, by the fact that typically tone-deaf people, are now suddenly AUTHORITIES on an art form that we have MASTERED before whites even EXISTED, but that wouldn't be the FIRST time that's happened. This is the reason why we're so critical of these award shows. Because every year, the Grammy's feel the need to remind us that like with everything ELSE, WE don't control SHIT, and OUR opinion is not as relevant as theirs. She does NOT deserve that award, and she knows it. I'm sure she may be a nice young lady, but she did NOT deserve that award based on how NICE she is.

@@futureworldx1627 Dude, just put your stereotypes in box and throw it into the ocean. It's people with close-minded mentalities that prevents people of color from getting the credit that they deserve. Black artists, or for that matter any artist don't need toxic people like you for defending them. Nobody got time for your outdated shallow thoughts.
