I've been a Gotham fan for a few years and only just found this channel now that I'm getting back into chess, and I gotta say...your content has helped my game quite a lot. I haven't had a skyrocket in my ratings or anything, but you've helped me with some concepts that I always had trouble with before.

Watching KZbin doesn’t do shit for your chess
@jishanchandel592910 күн бұрын
@@michaelreed2787 actually it does, you just have to focus on concepts she's teaching instead of her!
@michaelreed278710 күн бұрын
@@jishanchandel5929 Disagree. She is doing all of the heavy lifting related to calculating without mentioning lines. I don’t think you become a better player by watching other people play
@ecardozo70439 күн бұрын
@@michaelreed2787 she is describing her thought process, mentioning all the details she considers before making a move. But everyone can choose to learn or just consume content passively.
@michaelreed27879 күн бұрын
@@ecardozo7043 You’re not winning above 1300 blitz or 1600 rapid if you aren’t calculating concrete lines, and I didn’t hear a single concrete line in this video.

you are so good at this..sounds easy but its so hard..i dropped from 1300 to 1100 due to concentration problems

It's easier for her because she's been playing chess since she was a little girl. I went down in ratings too but just took a break from chess, then went back up

Nice instructive video as always. 28:25 I would rather take the bishop with b pawn, the follow up is Ba6+. if white don't take carefully, black can win the queen (CMIIW)

Unfortunately, I only just discovered your channel. You are a fantastic explainer. And even if your opponent doesn't deserve your patience when he takes too long to make a move or lets the time run out, you maintain the spirit of the game and explain it brilliantly. I would be angry if I were you Haha. Thank you very much for your wonderful content. I'm on my way to achieving ELO 2000. +1 subscriber and +1 like!!! You are a brilliant chess player and A brilliant chess content creator!

14:40 what about Bxc6? Threatening Ba6+ which looks very deadly forcing white to waste another tempo with the queen?
@nexty32307 күн бұрын
I had the same idea and checked the engine. bxc6 is +5.3 and Qxc6 is +3.1. So it is a much better move
