I’m a casual 1000 chess score player and you basically ressume my theoretical foundations of development, there you touched on the principle of double threat... it would be interesting if you made a video talking more about mid-game such as open attack, weak squares... something that helps us reach 1500. Btw I stayed until the end because of your ability to describe the game in a second language very impressive

I have been stuck at 900 elo rapid now for a month. but I keep watching videos, do puzzles, play against 1400+ elo bots and against other 900 players. One day I will get unstuck and continue my journey to GM! (or NM will also do). And yes Alessia, I did see the hanging queen, and when you didn't take it I was like "Why, Alessia, why?" 😭
@samuelforsberg1283Ай бұрын
Oh, and I loved this video, you make it look so easy when you crush the 900 players 👍

Hello Alessia, I'm practicing all the Remote Chess Academy traps atm. It's been detrimental to my Elo at first, but will be worth it in the long run to help me understand bold sacrificing tactics more. I got a couple of people good with the Borg trap, and the Grob trap tonight, which made me realize that almost every opening must have some in-built trap of some sort? The other advantage of playing this way is your wins will be quicker at lower Elo rather than such a grind.

From going from beginner to intermediate I had to deal with endless scholar mate attacks, and even fell to a few of them, until I learned to counter it, which wasn't hard. Now it looks like a cheap attack to me if someone attempts. The same with the Fried Liver attack. It doesn't happen to often for me playing at the intermediate level. I learned some other important concepts in chess about time, force and space in chess after reading some books by GM Yassar Seirawan.

I don't really play against human opponents - bots, puzzles, and courses only. I'd guess my chesscom rating would probably be around 1200-1400, but I'm still finding a lot of helpful ideas from you at this level. 👍

1.Play multiple games 2.Do nor focus on rules 3.Analyses all the games daily and see all your errors, then try to find the right answer to the previous movement of the opponent trying to not get the blunder again. Understand why you commited the error os key. The only way to imrpove qt chess is by committing errors (playing a lot) and inmediatly correct them.

My frustration is I’m over 1,600 rating in daily but when I play Rapid I’m only just over 1,000! I think I need more practice under time control as I fall apart. I never play blitz as too quick for me!!

Every tiny piece of information is crucial to gain advantage. Alotta people stuck at low Elo don't realize that, play a one-dimensional game, and are stuck in their ways. They fear dropping points to try anything new.
