My absolute favorite term you use is "THE DEFENSER" I love it... I find myself using it in normal everyday life to other Americans who immediately look at me like I'm crazy... One time I said it at work and a customer looked at me and pointed and say "Alessia??".... and we died laughing...... Very amazing video as usual. Love Love Love the speed-runs!! Tough to say without having your games to evaluate, but here are some general principles. Practice endgames so you have a plan for what you want your middlegame to evolve towards. You want to know the common plans to strive for while preventing your opponent succeeds at those plans first. Dominate the open files. Get a passed pawn. Establish an outpost Infiltrate on the 7th rank. Open up the position if you have you have the bishop pair and your opponent does not. Before you trade a bishop, establish dominance on the squares your bishop would've occupied. Practice puzzles and look for themes in the puzzles you struggle with so you can focus on those themes. Play both your opponent and yourself. As always, don't forget the List: Checks, captures, attacks and threats. If you're playing blitz, try some rapid games to create a foundation for your calculation which you then speed up for blitz.
