Hi. I loved yor documentary. I didn´t expect that the books you reccomend are mostly spiritual stuff. I totally respect. But I think we must be careful because many narcisist and psicopats are gurús, coaches, healers... My advice is to rely on science.

A book that is helping me currently to regain something essential that was the reason I kept allowing the narc to have access to me and to have been attracted to him in the first pleace, this essential thing was my extreme lack of self worth, and self love and not really knowing who I am. This book is : the inner bonding by Dr. Margaret Paul. I'm still reading it, but so far I feel like I know how to get in touch with my inner self more and validate myself more.❤

Such a beautiful happy person and gives inspiration with the honest reviews of the books recommended and the beautiful happiness I see made me feel good or inspired that I can heal survive and get that toxic horrible person out of my life and away from me, thank you for your videos and your emulating beautiful happiness. I’m a 55 year old woman who once loved myself and enjoyed life and let a extremely powerful or maybe a better reference would be a level 10 narcissist completely destroy almost all of me and I’m starting that “aaaaa run! I need to get out away from him!!!” Journey that I know will be filled with a lot more just hateful spite and bad from this person. Besides narcissistic personality disorder he’s borderline sociopathic (I say borderline only because I don’t know as much about sociopathic personality but he’s probably one) plus he has that extra added bonus of arrested development of an 8 year old and seems to have issues with women, just the ability for communication or the ability for a relationship, at least I see that obviously with me but with his daughter it’s a very basic go through the motions robotic behavior yet with his son it’s just talk talk talk and at least he’s involved or interested (these are his kids from a previous marriage and are amazingly smart and just filled with great qualities that there mom instilled into them) they are aware and know him but it’s always been blamed on other things and don’t really think even his ex wife pin pointed the reality of the narcissist personality disorder he’s also been or had drug problems with meth so that’s always been the “reason” for whatever awful things that they had to go through. I have reached out to her and have a semi friendship that is just there but not like we’re on phone or hang out, mostly to tell her she’s my hero. She left him and she had 2 kids and still put herself through nursing school and just good great things. So, wow, my comment turned into my life story but I’m sure anyone recovering from this narcissistic torture hell can relate to or understand, it’s like a broken pipe when you start letting it out or sharing, especially if you have been on that shameful lockdown just surviving and avoiding others for fear of drama from him or just that embarrassment or shameful feeling that he’s in your life or you married that dude. I refer to him as “that guy I married” because I have never felt that he was my husband, not from the day I married him to now, 7 years later. A husband is a partner or a 100 other good things and this guy is just some dude I married. I know I had PTSD as to why I married him besides that love bomb perfect guy performance at the beginning that we all enjoyed or fell for or believed. Ummmmm, I just wanted to say a nice comment and all that spewed out also, apologies but it makes an interesting read, it’s like a bad script from a lifetime Chanel movie. Making jokes and fun of the yuck has always been my coping mechanism and I do not in any way make light of the narcissist abuse or think it’s a joke and truly have so much empathy for anyone who has to deal with this, I have to have double the empathy, because the dude I married has none!! Haaaaa! There a bad joke but specifically for those of us who deal with a narcissistic personality disorder person and there abuse. Thank you for the book recommendations and the videos you have. =)

Best books that helped me: "psychopath free" by Jackson Mackenzie and "the sociopath next door" by Martha stout ^^ the second one is more for sociopaths/psychopaths than narcissists

You made the doco and a few videos. I would love for you to move on from narcissism and healing to be ready to be out of it . I was with someone for 5 years and the last 4 years just trying to heal. One day.....over and out.

The first song I wrote in the aftermath referenced Bessel van der Kolk's work. Great book. A seminal tome around trauma written by a peer of van der Kolk is also worth a read: Judith Herman: Trauma and Recovery. I would send the song but I think youtube automatically deletes Soundcloud links. Anyway, keep up with the good work you are doing.

Hi Aletta, thank you for your recommendation, I am also after narcissistic abuse ( just one month passed of no contact, 2 years relationship), he still texting me so well be good to get some good books 🙂 I just want to add that I love Joe Dispenza and I really recommend his meditations to everyone. Some of them you can find on KZbin, it's worth to try but good to learn basics of his teachings before starting meditating. Sending lots of love to everyone 💗

I love Dr. Joe Dispenza's work! I just need to start practicing it but, you know, severe procrastination, which is one of many, many characteristics of C-PTSD, that messes up your adult life. Aletta, everybody, please go to Tim Fletcher's channel. He's a substance abuse (a characteristic of C-PTSD) counselor based Canada and he has a FANTASTIC, comprehensive, powerful video series on abuse and C-PTSD. He's also a pastor but never preaches or pushes Jeebus down our throats. Just a nice life-learning Biblical story at the end, and he gives the audience the option to leave if they're not into it, and he won't be offended I love that man. I'd seriously jump in front of a moving bus for him. My nightmare nuclear family from hell? I'd shove every one of them in front of it. 💙💛
